@ukrailadventure Well done, Austin! Do what you love & don’t look back! If you ever want an epic train adventure, come to Canada and take our trans-Canada rail trip. Interesting fact: trains built Canada! The railroad connected our provinces for the first time and made Confederation possible!

3 months ago, Austin told me that he wanted a break from adventures. I didn't know why at the time but it turns out it was because someone had made fun of him for being into trains. This broke me tbh 💔 but after lots of deep chats, he's over it & going to ignore them. So.... 1/2

@stan_sdcollins Oh no no. This is heartbreaking news. I have so enjoyed Stan’s posts about his beautiful province, the wonderful people who live there, his family and, of course, his pup. The finest ambassador NL could ever hope for. What a loss. My heartfelt sympathy to you, Marlene and family.

@hijackedsociety @GottabeKD1267 @jkenney Interesting opinion. So what would you say to the millions of Canadians outside Alberta who footed the multi-billion dollar bill to purchase the Trans Mountain pipeline to keep that project alive and support Alberta’s capacity to move its oil to port?

Interesting opinion, which everyone has a right to one. Here is another perspective. Alberta and Saskatchewan have been the engine to keep Canada afloat with billions of energy revenues yet zero respect from Ottawa or understanding by everyday Canadians how Alberta and Saskatchewan revenues and energy products make their lives better. Had they turned those revenue taps off years ago, I agree you could say no loyalty to Canada. Or had they not been working hard with US counterparts regarding tarrifs you could claim no loyalty. Ottawa for generations has been negligent to Western provinces with its decisions. Those decisions have been bombastic for the energy sector especially now. Eventually all of Canada will feel it . Western politicians are beginning to stand up for what's right, not necessarily what Ottawa has pushed to be politically beneficial. So far, Ottawa has been dead wrong in how to navigate this tariff crisis. We are no further ahead than 4 months ago doing it Ottawa’s way. It's been like watching them try to put a round peg in a square hole. There is something to say about mavericks. They usually get the job done even in unconventional ways. Don't discount Alberta and Saskatchewans' methods yet. @ABDanielleSmith @fordnation @PremierScottMoe @PierrePoilievre @MarkJCarney

Trump’s 25% tariff on Canadian auto imports is a devastating blow to hundreds of thousand of good, honest, hard-working Canadians. We Albertans have long pleaded with central Canadians to understand the importance of the energy industry to our economy. Well, now we have to show Ontarians that we share their outrage with this betrayal, and stand in solidarity with those whose livelihoods & communities are in real danger. Let’s not allow Trump to divide Canadians. We have to stand together to defend *all* industries and jobs. That means that everything should be on the table in terms of our potential strategic response. To the Ontarians who are deeply anxious about these attacks, please know that the vast majority of Albertans stand proudly with you, and have your back.

@Rix6145 @Dub_Wizzer @A_Masked_Cat @sentdefender @elonmusk And a vote of no confidence leads to an election under our constitution. Also worth noting we have the Canada Elections Act which prescribes federal elections every four years, with our constitution requiring them no later than every 5 years. So there’s that as well.

@Rix6145 @Dub_Wizzer @A_Masked_Cat @sentdefender @elonmusk 1: it’s “seceded”, not succeeded. 2: Trudeau is Prime Minister, not president. 3: King C has no power to cancel elections here. Under our constitution, our Governor General must dissolve Parliament and order an election at the request of the PM. Thanks.

Lets use a more realistic hypothetical. Lets say Alberta Canada succeeded from Canada to become its own country. And Canada started to bomb, raid and kill albertans as well as their own political opponents. And the USA told them to stop many times but they felt emboldened by their alliance with Europe... So the US population through their president decides to go in to protect the people of Alberta that are being mistreated by Justin Trudeau who is not a legitimate president because King Charles canceled the elections... And instead of overthrowing the Canadian Government we keep our "Special Military Action to protect Albertans small and limited to the Alberta Province/Country" Then Europe eventually gets good leaders that see this as a stupid War, who come to Justin Trudeau and suggest he hold elections so that peace can be established and an end to the war. I would be wearing a "Fuck Canada" T Shirt.

Hey, @westjet, a family member has been on hold with you for 6 hours, trying to cancel flights you’ve switched him to that he can’t accept, after you cancelled two other itineraries. He needs to get home and wants to book elsewhere. What should he do???

@JustinTrudeau But when that nurse inherits the family cottage, it will have to be sold (to one of those rich people who can afford it) because he or she won’t be able to pay the capital gains without selling. Welcome to the new Canada, where only the rich can live the Canadian cottage dream.

Right now, a multi-millionaire in Canada could pay a lower marginal tax rate than a nurse. We’re changing that. We’re asking the wealthiest few to pay a little more — to pay their fair share.

An old wharf in Neddy’s Harbour that is still being used by a lobster fishing enterprise during the summer months. Shag Cliff can be seen in the distant background.

Manotick Morning Mews Muse The circa 1980s Manotick Mall Clock is a cool timepiece that never works…I know there’s more important things to worry about, but every town needs a functioning town clock…and this is a neat “Back To The Future” era type clock… I contacted the mall owners but they said there is no one in the area that does this type of work anymore. Is that true? No one can repair clocks anymore? I am reaching out to some clock people to see what’s up…🕰

Last full day in the Rockies. Hiked the Terminator trail and had lunch at 2500m. Over our 2 weeks here we hiked over 200km on trails in 3 national parks covering 2 provinces, as well as some local to Golden BC. Mother Nature has been good to us. Thanks for following along. 🥾

A great loss for Canada. Hugh Segal was, among many other things, an ardent supporter of good communications as a critical policy tool. His view (and I paraphrase): if you can’t explain a policy simply and clearly to the average Cdn, it’s probably not very good policy. Dead on.
Graham Fox@foxgw

Cdn politics has lost its happiest warrior tonight. Hugh Segal's lifelong call for decency in our politics is at once a look back at what was, and a hope for what can be. I am heartbroken that I didn't get to say goodbye, but your ideals live on. Merci, and so much love. #cdnpoli
