@YourSouthend "There is a team of Community Safety Officers who are responsible for providing high visibility patrols in the city centre to tackle crime, anti-social behaviour and other issues." Where were they then?
This fight between two women happened in front of shocked shoppers in Southend High Street.
The incident took place in the middle of the day and further highlights continued issues with anti-social behaviour in the city centre.
An eyewitness told Your Southend that the women had allegedly "been arguing about drugs".
Southend has a Community Safety Partnership (CSP) which share responsibility of tackling crime and disorder, anti-social behaviour plus drug and alcohol related offending.
It's a multi-agency team including Southend City Council's Community Safety Unit, Youth Offending Service, Drug and Alcohol team, Essex Police, Essex County Fire & Rescue Service, the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner, South Essex Homes, the National Probation Service and Health Services.

@AnneJessicaLise UK suburban mentality would despair at the narrow streets and separation distances. Not to mention the town planners on their 18m distance. I love it!!!
@QcWynter Its such a landmark moment in a person's life when they make such a significant decision to seek advice on freeing a festering sponge.... not only that but to publicly seek that advice and admit that it has been festering for 5 years. You should be proud of finally taking action
Now that sponge has been freed, I may be asked to answer the difficult question of how the sponge, whose first outing this was, came to be wrongly imprisoned for 5 years.
I am going dark for the night, whilst I consult with my legal team.
Lawyers also need lawyers.
@bt_uk possibly the worst broadband service I have ever had - little to no service since moving. 3 days to escalate to a line manager is not escalating. I would not recommend you at all. @VodafoneUK was a much better service and response times... will anyone pick this up?
Whats the latest thinking on housing targets and housing land supply by govt. Will the draft NPPF still do away with housing targets or has the tide changed at all? Answers on a postcard (or tweet)
@VodafoneUK why does a person need to spend 3 hours on chat support with no resolution of issues repeating the same information with the problem still not sorted. Wanting to remain a customer but not wanting this terrible customer services. Close to cancelling! please respond
@aknotay Alex - is it really another year since your annual post. I am so glad to see you celebrate your sister's life every year, its clear she was very loved. These are amazing photos and amazing memories
Singularly failed to track down a red velvet cupcake for Sophie’s birthday today but had a little lunchtime moment in the sun remembering the fizzing spirit of my bonkers, beautiful, brilliant sister who should have turned 38 today. Missing you always Soph. ❤️❤️❤️ #sophieparr
hello twittersphere. Can anyone advise how long appeals by written reps are taking for advert consent appeals? The reality please not the PINS website stats. From submission to issue of a decision by the inspector please?
