@ns123abc Grok 4 being 500B while 1T and 10T clusters are already training means the public model and the actual capability are already living in different zip codes
English

SpaceXAI has 1T and 10T training rn on GB300s
Grok 4 was just a small 500B model
OpenAI and Anthropic got an early lead hoarding compute via institutional ties and shipped ~1+T models first. xAI built its own.
But we're still in early game, mid game hasnt even started yet, and then there's late game.
Compute is king. Just wait.

spent way too long staring at GPU prices this week so you don't have to.
here's where we actually are in 2026:
RTX 5090 → $1999 if you can find one
RTX 5080 → $999
RTX 5070 Ti → $799
RX 9070 XT → $669
the RX 9070 XT is doing RTX 4080 numbers for half the price. the choice has never been more obvious and less talked about

@aicontext_ this is less about convenience and more about where the boundary between assistant and operator gets drawn

Google launched Gemini Spark — an AI agent that runs 24/7, even when your phone is off.
it reads your Gmail, manages tasks, browses the web. All in the background.
that could go wrong: it checks with you before "major actions." But who decides what counts as major?
this is the most important privacy question in AI rn

@colepulse what if the comparison is underselling it. the industrial revolution took 80 years to fully reshape labor. AI is moving in months. the framing might be wrong in the other direction
English

the industrial revolution comparison is the framing every AI exec is using right now. dario said it. sam said it. jensen said it. now jack. the language is consistent across labs because it justifies the capex story to investors
the industrial revolution was measured by output, productivity gains, and gdp growth. AI's current measurable productivity impact is genuinely impressive in coding and specific knowledge work.
it's also harder to measure than steel production or textile output. claiming "10x bigger than the industrial revolution" requires evidence we don't have yet
"millions of copies, smarter and faster than any human" is true for narrow tasks at narrow points in time.
it's not true across the breadth of what humans actually do. that distinction matters because the industrial revolution didn't replace humans for narrow tasks. it replaced humans for entire categories of physical work
both can be true:
AI is the most important technology of this decade AND the "10x bigger than industrial revolution" framing is marketing language that hasn't been earned yet
worth taking the technology seriously without taking the press release literally
Haider.@haider1
Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark: We're building a technology something 10 times bigger than the Industrial Revolution, compressed into 10 times less time The Industrial Revolution changed jobs over generations "but this is different: millions of copies, smarter and faster than any human"

@Pirat_Nation sony: $70 games. microsoft: $70 games. valve: here's your entire steam library you bought over the last 15 years. enjoy the living room
English

Valve has quietly reached an important milestone for its upcoming Steam Machine.
The device was recently added to the official Vulkan 1.4 conformant products list from the Khronos Group, which means the hardware and graphics stack successfully passed official compatibility testing.
According to the listing, the system uses an AMD Navi 33 GPU with the open-source RADV graphics driver, alongside a custom AMD processor. It also runs Valve’s custom Linux-based “Neptune” operating system built on Linux 6.16.
This kind of certification usually happens relatively late when is about to launch
