Woodbank psychiatric intensive care unit is now open and welcomed the first patients last week. The refurbished unit at Stepping Hill hospital supports women experiencing serious mental illness, such as psychosis or severe depression, closer to home and closer to loved ones.

Really enjoyed my visit to #Woodbank our new #PICU in #Stockport today. Fully recruited to & taking patients from mid-May, a great facility for @PennineCareNHS & @NHS_GM. Good to check in with the #PennineCarePeople who will be delivering this new service & cut the #cake!

Our amazing new PICU, Woodbank! So proud of the team behind this - they developed an evidence based model of care focussed on trauma and gender need & an incredible induction / training programme supported by a stunning environment. Co produced with service users at every step.
