Today I received the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 13, AIG Abayomi Oladipo, at the Lion Building. We had a productive engagement. Enugu remains one of the safest states in Nigeria, despite the propaganda and recycled falsehoods peddled on social media. From the onset, we understood that our ambition to grow Enugu’s economy from 4.4 billion to 30 billion dollars and position our state as the premier destination for investment, tourism, business, and living cannot be achieved without a secure environment. That’s why we made security a top priority, backed by strong political will and massive investment. We have installed AI-powered surveillance cameras across the state, set up a state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre, deployed over 150 security vehicles under our Distress Response Squad, and strengthened collaboration with security agencies. With this infrastructure, Enugu now has the capacity not only to prevent crimes but also to solve them swiftly. We are not oblivious to those who resort to circulating old videos, incidents from other places, and fabricated stories, presenting them as though they are happening in Enugu. But if we look beyond these fake narratives, it becomes clear that Enugu is, unarguably, the safest city in Nigeria. Still, we are not resting. We continue to hold our security agencies to account, working closely with them to ensure that no crime goes unpunished. I thank AIG Oladipo for his visit, and I appreciate the synergy between the Commissioners of Police in Enugu and Anambra. I also welcome his commendation of the progress we’ve made in securing lives and property in our state.

@Blacksanta91 The chairman’s speeches make it seem like a battle among the elites in Eha-Amufu. But what about the poor masses who are helpless and lack security? Isn’t it time for the chairman to call a general assembly to address these issues instead of placing blame on his fellow elites?
