I feel sick for Southampton fans. Can’t imagine how awful they feel. I don’t think the punishment fits the crime. Manager banned. Club fined. But this is a travesty.

We have this evening been informed that the EFL’s League Arbitration Panel has upheld the sanctions imposed earlier this week.

No custodial sentence for a gang rape is sickening. The judge even praises the boys involved. This cannot be allowed to stand

imagine you’re raped at knifepoint and your rapist gets praised for good trial behaviour & you get told “he just had ADHD and low IQ🥺”

This gang lured and gang-raped at knifepoint a young girl while they filmed it laughing. I will refer their sentences as unduly lenient - let’s see if this time the Government again says the rapists are too immature to receive stronger sentences. Who are these disgraceful judges? Judge Nicholas Rowland praised the boys for their conduct during the trial. “I think of you as very young and none of you have been in any big trouble before”

A Morrisons store manager says his life has been completely 'devastated' after he was sacked for confronting a repeated shoplifter. Sean Egan - who had worked in the Aldridge Morrisons in the West Midlands for 29 years - was escorting the shoplifter out of the store when the thief turned aggressive.

Why is Keir Starmer so comfortable in lying to Parliament?…

Noticed a real shift lately — posts criticising Keir Starmer are increasingly met with people pushing back, often pointing to his decency and professionalism. That kind of defence just wasn’t as visible before. Something in the tone of the debate seems to be changing.

If Keir Starmer ever resigns, what will you miss about him most?

I’ve seen more scintillating paint dry than the repeat offerings from Badenoch at #PMQs - nothing new, nothing that hasn’t been asked already, nothing about priorities for the UK. And where was she when the Tories appointed Lebedev to the Lords against security advice

This is not our war, but it is now pushing up bills for families and businesses. That’s why keeping costs down is my number one priority – and our economic plan has put us in a stronger position to face this crisis.

Who would be a better Prime Minister than Keir Starmer?

Miriam Margolyes was tasked with handing out the trophy for the University Challenge final. Naturally she brought up a time she said the f-word (on UC; oh what a hoot she is!) Was no one else available?

Lord Chancellor, Secretary of State for Justice and Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy genuinely had no clue what was even going off yesterday in parliament. Absolute embarrassment.

Lord Doyle responds to this morning's session: “I have never sought any Head of Mission, Ambassador or any equivalent leadership-type posting. I was never aware of anyone speaking to the FCDO about such a role for me. My desire after leaving No10 was to stay in UK politics.”

Olly Robbins is strongly hinting that he will sue the FCDO over his dismissal. Says there is a "separate process, for me to try to get to the bottom of" what happened and refuses to say things he may later "rely on" because of the "HR position" he is in. Sounds expensive.
