More footage from inside Iran shows regime forces using schools as military bases. The regime continues to use civilians as shields.

Americans need to know: our government is under siege by lobbyists from German company Bayer. Bayer has spent over $9 million lobbying for exemption from liability for harm its chemicals like glyphosate might cause. The Constitution guarantees a trial for those who are harmed.

Exiled from Iran, Iranian-American journalist @AlinejadMasih helped spark a global movement for women’s rights. In response, the Iranian regime attempted to assassinate her on U.S. soil, multiple times. On January 28, a federal trial will begin tied to the murder-for-hire plot, orchestrated by operatives of the Iranian regime. As this case moves forward, it is a stark reminder that the IRGC is a global terror threat that has repeatedly targeted dissidents, former U.S. officials, Israelis, and Jewish communities across Europe and beyond.
Masih Alinejad 🏳️@AlinejadMasih

Hello everyone. The FBI just informed me that on January 28, I will once again come face to face with yet ANOTHER man who tried to assassinate me on U.S. soil. This man was hired to kill me at a university in Connecticut, where I was scheduled to give a talk about the situation in Iran. His name is Carlisle Rivera. He was recruited by Farhad Shakeri, an IRGC agent who was also involved in a separate assassination plot targeting President Trump. This is the true nature of the Islamic Republic a regime that is massacring people right now inside Iran, having killed up to 20,000 people, while using the same terror networks to hunt its critics abroad, no matter where they are. Seeing this play out in a U.S. federal courtroom matters. It puts their crimes on the official record. It lets the world know who they really are. This is the Islamic Republic’s playbook: silence people at home with bullets, chase them abroad with assassins, and when that fails, smear them. I am strong because millions of unarmed people inside Iran, with no protection and no voice, are risking everything and are ready to die for a free Iran. I will do the same. Please stand by my side in federal court. We are in this together. Because this regime is not a threat only to Iranians. It is a threat to people across the region and far beyond. The Islamic Republic sends drones to kill innocent Ukrainians. Through the IRGC and its violent proxies, it exports repression and terror well beyond Iran’s borders, including deep involvement in Venezuela. It has targeted Jewish communities, attacked synagogues, and murdered civilians because of who they are. It has pursued dissidents on European soil and attempted assassinations on American soil. This is why we must stand together, alongside the people of Iran who are risking their lives to push back against tyranny, not only for their freedom, but to protect global security and the safety of people everywhere. January 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Judge Liman’s courtroom 500 Pearl Street, Courtroom 15C

Tonight at the U.S. Capitol, we held a candlelight vigil for the people of Iran risking everything to demand freedom and an end to the Islamic Republic. More than 12,000 have been killed by the regime—a massacre. We stand with the Iranian people.

There was so much talk about the protests in Iran – but they drowned in blood. The world has not helped enough the Iranian people, it has stood aside. What will Iran become after this bloodshed? If the regime survives, it sends a clear signal to every bully – kill enough people, and you stay in power.

Insurance companies do not want you to fully understand this story. Because if you do, you will understand exactly how American healthcare needs to change. When my patient Rachel needed breast reconstruction, her insurance company required that I operate at a hospital that was not equipped to provide the safest care for her recovery. Rachel has spent over 20 years in healthcare as a nurse and nurse practitioner. She understands hospitals. And despite that, she was deeply traumatized by what she experienced. On Monday morning in Austin, she showed up for surgery and was turned away because the operating rooms were not safe to use. We pleaded with her insurance company to allow her surgery to be performed at @redbudsurgerycenter, a center designed specifically for breast reconstruction. They refused. On Tuesday, we went to a different hospital. The nurses were skilled, compassionate, and doing their best. But they did not have the tools or systems to support this kind of recovery. Rachel spent the night advocating for herself because she could tell things were not right. IV access issues. Monitoring gaps. Basic safety checks missed. Things patients should never have to catch on their own. Rachel asked me to share her story because when doctors and patients are forced into unsafe situations with no ability to choose better care, something is very wrong. After more than a decade of caring for people affected by breast cancer, I built a surgery center specifically for this work. It is CMS certified. It exists for patient safety. And yet, like so many Americans, Rachel’s insurance company decided where she was allowed to receive care. Insurance companies are no longer just making payment decisions. They are making medical decisions. We cannot change what happened to Rachel. But we can listen, learn, and do better for the next patient. Because the next person may not know how to advocate the way she did. And that is how people get hurt.

The level of consolidation in our health system helps explain why Americans feel anxious about their health care – because the coverage they have, the drugs they rely on, and the doctors they can see, are increasingly controlled by the same corporate families.

I asked health insurance CEOs to raise their hands if they’re penalized when patients are harmed by delays or wrongful denials. Not. One. Hand. Patients pay the price. Executives protect the profits. That’s the problem.

A father went to retrieve his child’s body. A regime official demanded 800 million toman, approximately 7,000 USD, to release it. When the father refused, the official said the body would be handed over for free only if the family declared that their son was a Basij member loyal to the regime and that protesters were responsible for his death. This is the true face of the Islamic Republic. Despicable. Merciless. Corrupt beyond repair.Down with the Islamic Republic. #IranProtests #IranianRevolution2026

Former professional Iranian soccer player, Mojtaba Tarshiz, was shot during protests in Iran, according to Hengaw Organization for Human Rights. Now, Iranian sports broadcaster Dr. Mojtaba Pourbakhsh is calling on FIFA to publicly denounce the killing of Iranian athletes. In 2022, another professional football player, Amir Reza Nasr Azadani, was initially sentenced to death in connection with protests, before wide outcry — including condemnation from international football organizations — resulted in his sentence being reduced to 26 years in prison. FIFA did not immediately respond to CBS News' request for comment.

Thanks to The Times for telling my story. Iranian regime tried 3 times to kidnap and kill me on U.S. soil. I saw my would-be assassin outside my home in New York. He confessed in a U.S. courtroom the IRGC hired him—AK-47. Mr president @realDonaldTrump , they deny it, while using the same AK-47s to shoot unarmed Iranians today. Same regime. Same weapon. Same lie! thetimes.com/article/5d13b4…

Interesting how quick people are to chalk up the 90-million strong Iranian liberation movement to an “Israeli psy-op,” just because Israel’s interests happen to align with it, Yet, the free Palestine movement was not reduced to an IRGC psy-op by the same crowd, even though the Islamic regime was more than just aligned, it was militarily, financially, and strategically invested. Strange how that works, no?

What’s unfolding in Iran may be the most consequential and underreported story in the world. Free elections there won’t just be a human rights victory. The fall of the Ayatollahs will release tens of millions of people, who come from one of the most creative civilizations in history. Iranian culture has shaped art, science and innovation for centuries. Suppressing it hurts not just Iranians, but humanity as a whole.
