@TheHost_ Seriously who doesn’t have a winter coat?! They are cheap and readily available. Unless your house burnt down anyone over 20 should have one 🤦🏼♀️
I was in Walmart this morning and overheard a woman tell her husband that she needed a winter coat.
For context it’s snowing here and cold. He told her maybe next paycheck.
I stood there for a solid minute thinking about the fact that I had a really nice coat in my backseat that I keep meaning to donate.
I didn’t want to make her uncomfortable but when he wandered away I walked up and quietly said
Btw, by coincidence, I was just researching the history of equality of women in Australia after being inspired by 'I Am Woman' by Helen Reddy.
I discovered that the Australian government produces an annual report card w.r.t. the status of women. This year we rose to number 13 in the world – down from a low of 50 in 2021 (no wonder there were marches on Parliament House that year).
Between an information access submission and a whistleblower webinar this evening, I went for a walk on a 10 km beach. I was the only person on the beach. Gotta love Australia! ❤️🇦🇺

Jim Chalmers has stormed out of a press conference as he is asked about the extravagant spending of Anika Wells and her use of taxpayer funds
“Is it fair for taxpayers to be paying for business class flights for family reunions?”
That was enough for Jim.
@MrRexPatrick@snowyhydro@DCCEEW A$42bn, the blowout approaches 2000% from the original 2017 estimate.
That would place it among the worst megaproject overruns recorded in modern infrastructure history.
Snowy 2.0 isn't just a project management failure, it's also a project accountability failure . @snowyhydro's CEO, the Secretary of @DCCEEW, and two ministers knew of the $40B blowout, they just weren't telling you - the person playing the bills. #auspolmichaelwest.com.au/snowy-2-0-a-sn…
The fact is I can initiate and enforce Government transparency from anywhere in Australia.

@aaronsmith@messycables1@c_s_wallace@simonahac That's my latest take on EV's after having worn the depreciation of a new Atto 3 in Jul 24. I'd recommend a second hand EV for the same reason a second hand ICE vehicle had some advantages.
@messycables1@c_s_wallace@simonahac It would be useful, but lots of variables in practice.
My EV insurance is less than my previous V6 SUV, I have no maintenance costs for 5 years, and if you can find a cheap 2nd hand EV on the market, I reckon go for it.
This little app by @simonahac compares the cost per km of the top 10 selling ICE vehicles with the top 10 selling EVs, using current petrol prices and the average charging rate over the past 24 hours.
It's both fascinating and compelling.

My father is a reserved man, he didn't want me to post his work out of shame, but it's beautiful and I wanted everyone to see that crochet men have a lot of talent too! 🥰
I hope he gets some compliments!
Nice to have mum come along to Adelaide last week for my keynote address at the KWY conference - good to get a professional shot of us too.
My mum wasn’t even a citizen of her own country when she was born. In 1962 she had to go to court to obtain citizenship-and had to renounce her culture for it.
She still managed to close the gap for all five of her children in one generation.

"Would you like to buy a bag for 50 cents?"
"Ok."
"Would you like to round up your purchase to make a donation to charity?"
"No."
I didn't ask for a guilt trip with my purchase.
You pay for the donation. They claim it as a tax deduction.
The cunts. 🤬
