Education doesnt only take place in schools. It happens in homes & communities. We need to look beyond passing examination to regulating important issues such as health and giving guidance." - Mr Fagil Mandy, Senior Educationist #PassThePolicy #NSHPNowNow #PWJK

The National School Health Policy has taken long to be finalized due to lack of Regulatory Impact Assessment. Together with the Office of the President, Cabinet Secretariat we have convened a 2-day meeting for key policy makers to orient them on the process of developing the RIA

@SsemakulaHenry4 do you know thay even LCs distributing learning materials discriminate while doing so? They choose which house to give. Isn't thw time for @Educ_SportsUg to virtually #PassThePolicy? Lessons from #COVIDー19 @cehurduganda @raelwyne @ppglobe @KukuAnne
Ssemakula Henry@SsemakulaHenry4

@MusiimeNicole @cehurduganda @Educ_SportsUg @mulumbacehurd @Nakibuukam @MinofHealthUG @SwedeninUG @raelwyne @UnesoUganda @BakshiAsuman It is true that some learners may not access any of the channels used for the distribution of learning materials but parents were encouraged to share. There is also assurance that such learners will not be left out. When SCH resumes, Trs will start from where they ended b4 LD.

@EdySifuna @cehurduganda Challenge is that learner are at home. But the many guidelines indicate the role of other players beyond the school environment. Some reminders have been made by MOES via media e.g on Violence against children and the need for. Incidentally many parents leave this work to schools

So, how have these many guidelines been utilized during this pandemic to support learners? @cehurduganda #PassThePolicy #MatureBefore18
Ssemakula Henry@SsemakulaHenry4

@EdySifuna @cehurduganda @Educ_SportsUg @mulumbacehurd @ppglobe @SolomonSerwanjj @jamesparkers5 @BRwakimari @MusiimeNicole @ssemakulahenry My brother, even before policy is out, there have been a number of guidelines and regulations on various aspects of health in schools. E.g the RTRR guidelines to handle Violence against children, the School feeding guidelines, the Basic Requirements and Minimum standards (BRMS)

@Nakibuukam @cehurduganda @Educ_SportsUg @amyfallon You are very right my daughter. The head scratching is more to do with this invisible enemy of Covid 19. There is no "one fitting solution to all its challenges. For other Health conditions, MOES has always done whatever is in its mandate.Truly Covid and others must be integrated

@SsemakulaHenry4 don't you think the task force is scratching heads because of lack of a policy? Is it better to rather finalize it and add guidelines for pandemics like #Covid_19 - as in project for the future?. Please #PassThePolicy @cehurduganda @Educ_SportsUg @amyfallon
Ssemakula Henry@SsemakulaHenry4

#MatureBefore18 The MOES has a Covid 19 task force which is currently scratching the heads to prepare guidelines for the return of learners back to schools. But this task will take more than MOES efforts and will need support of all SCH stakeholders
