And worse still, there was no replacement capacity ready. Germany turned to intermittent wind and solar backed by gas, imports, and emergency coal restarts. The obvious consequences followed. Electricity prices surged, grid reliability weakened, and fossil fuel use actually increased. Chancellor Friedrich Merz has now admitted the shutdown was a strategic mistake, calling Germany's energy transition the most expensive in the world. A reckless bending to extreme green ideology traded reliability and prosperity for optics. Working nuclear plants were destroyed. And for what?

We are top earners in a (supposedly) First World country, so my kids eat grass-fed beef and free range eggs and fresh produce. We only eat Real Food in this house. We easily afforded all of those things just a few years ago. Now it's not so easy anymore, but I am not going to compromise my childrens' quality of life to satisfy the lack of discernment of a subhuman slave like you. Instead, I am going to pay the premium knowing that our President made it harder for us so that billionaires could keep looting the country, so that we could continue to be replaced with foreign workers, so that Chinese people could buy our already-short beef supply from us, and so that Israel could have the war in Iran they've been crying for my entire life. And since you think all of that is okay and that my kids should get fat from eating nothing but rice and beans, you also belong in the same category as all of those people: my enemy.

Across the same city an Irish man is lured by two men of foreign background to a place where he is brutalised and murdered on camera, seemingly due to who he is. You are supposed to draw no conclusions. An investigation is ongoing and you shouldn't prejudice it. Collective guilt is absolutely off the table. We have in no way failed this man and his family. Anyone who says anything about the case invoking collective guilt or calling out particular ethnic or racial communities for their behaviour is an evil person and should be held accountable for their transgressions. The multicultural and multiracial society is very successful in curating such double-think. The fact that the two positions outlined above coexist, one supporting the other in some perverted dialectic, is evidence that society has been driven insane. No justice or representative governance is possible in such a society.

When Homelander lost his powers him turning into a sniveling whining pathetic coward willing to do anything to preserve himself was extremely realistic and actually very well done. Him saying that he would even blow Butcher, humiliate himself, is very on brand. They actually nailed that. Everything leading up to that moment, including how Kimiko took away his powers with the power of love and accepting herself was beyond absurdity in an already bottom tier expectation show. Hughie has sucked the entire series, he’s had zero redemption, he’s not even the heart of the show, he literally just sucks and gets in the way, and EVEN AT THE LAST MOMENT, not only does he NOT let Butcher complete the job and actually wipe out all the supes (Butcher was completely correct in his assessment that if they don’t wipe out the supes another Homelander will just rise again), he SHOOTS Butcher and then has the audacity to TRY TO CONSOLE HIM after he shot him LMAO. WTF? And then he gave a speech at his funeral like he wasn’t the one that just killed him. It’s the most absurd backwards ending ever. Of course you also had the obvious Homelander k**ling an Elon type character who “wants to talk about declining white fertility rates,” but that is to be expected for how low the show stoops. Overall the whole series was slop. The first season was good, MAYBE the second too? And then it’s just over the top perversion, degeneracy, hate, writing and plots that make no sense, and no reward whatsoever. Would not recommend. Glad it’s over. Did like how Homelander went out however. That was very well done. Hughie is the real villain of the show. He didn’t let Butcher finish the job. He invalidated all of his effort for good boy points. Hughie is the worst.
