i think my hangup on 7r discourse is that something like this is somehow a negative. people just throw around 'bloat' and 'padding' which i just dont think apply when the expanded content is generally good, well-thought out and purposeful

I played the first 90 minutes of the original Final Fantasy VII. Wow, I had no idea how short the Midgar arc was in the OG. I've already met Aerith, which is like Chapter 8 in Remake and that's almost the halfway point of that game.

People like this don't understand FF7 at all. If they did it all in 1 game it would've been eaten alive for cutting out all of the detail and paling in comparison to the legend of the og. Now we will have 3 critically acclaimed masterpieces that stand as giants alongside it

People praising the pace at which the ff7 remakes came out is crazy. I like the idea of how they approached the remakes but taking 10 years just to tell one story is absolutely ridiculous and should never happen again

Yep. Square could've easily taken the safe route and just make a shot for shot remake. They took creative risks that they knew would alienate some folks.
I don't appreciate how they've been framed as just phoning it in and not caring. They put a lot of effort in these games.

the whole “square is milking ff7 by making it 3 parts” thing is funny because i think just remaking the original as-is would be far more of a cash-grab. the fact that it’s a giant trilogy is just more proof of the sheer passion involved in this project

Chaque partie de FF 7 Remake correspond à un gros jeu développé indépendamment, pas un seul jeu divisé en 3.
Vous pouvez estimer que vous auriez aimé quelque chose de plus dense, soit, mais pas qu’il s’agit d’une arnaque.
Sinon à ce rythme là, navré de vous l’admettre mais il vous faudra acheter 9 jeux pour avoir l’intégralité de l’histoire de Metal Gear.

100% agree. When it's all said and done, I might enjoy the remake trilogy as much as, if not more than, the original. A big deal considering the original has been in my Top 10 for nearly 30 years.

Im convinced the ppl hating on Faye being the protagonist didn’t actually play Ragnarok. There’s many instances where the game tells you how bad ass Faye is. There was a literal side quest abt her fighting Thor, some sort of game abt her was obvious.
