There is something specific about writing that removes the social pressure of real time reaction. In a room you edit yourself constantly based on faces. Writing removes that feedback loop and what emerges is closer to the actual thought rather than the version you calculated would land safely.

In real life my voice does not carry far. I have sat in rooms and said things that dissolved into silence. Conversations where I could feel my words landing and going nowhere.
