Man of the match performance by Lammens. His handling was immaculate - everything stuck to him. Under relentless pressure at set pieces, he stayed calm and completely in control.

I feared the worst when I saw the lineup and it played out exactly as expected. With no real ball progression through midfield and no pace out wide = slow, predictable football... I fear the wheels will come off.

Mbeumo brings goals and work ethic. The attacking options are significantly better compared to last season. This United team has goals in it.

Cunha was class. He was the main attacking outlet in the second half and helped relieve the pressure through his control, strength and composure in tight areas. It’s been said already, he has the swagger to play for United.

I’ve been critical of Amad this season, but credit where it’s due, he was outstanding today, both going forward and tracking back. The yellow card was a farce. He looks better at right wing-back and the link-up with Mbeumo is starting to click nicely.

Another solid outing by Lammens. He kept things simple and effective. No risky short passes to invite Liverpool’s press, just calm, assured play throughout. Makes a massive difference.

United have been well worthy of the lead at half time. Expecting Lammens to very busy on the second. United will hopefully absorb the pressure and score on the counter!

For the first time, I’m genuinely questioning Amorim’s direction. The end is nigh, surely? Or in November when his pay off is less…

Absolutely brutal showing today. Easily the worst performance of the season, no shape at the back, no cohesion going forward and the complete absence of urgency or intensity was enough to make you want to rip your hair out.

Mbeumo was United’s standout performer. In addition to scoring, he created plenty of chances. He’s a clear upgrade on the likes of Garnacho.

Much like the Fulham match, United should’ve had the game wrapped up by half-time. At this point, I’m not overly fixated on formations or tactical setups - what worries me most is the drop in intensity and tempo. This was a must-win, they got the job done, just.
