Controversial Nigerian influencer Blessing Nkiruka Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has been arraigned and remanded in custody over an alleged ₦36 million fraud case. According to the EFCC, she allegedly obtained the money from a woman under the false pretense of securing the lease of a luxury duplex in Lekki, Lagos. Blessing CEO pleaded not guilty to the charges. Her lawyer told the court that ₦24 million had already been refunded and requested more time to repay the outstanding balance. However, the court declined any private settlement arrangement, ordered that she be remanded pending the fulfillment of bail conditions, and adjourned the case until June 5, 2026. The development also comes amid a separate investigation tied to alleged fraudulent cancer fundraising claims. #ARISENEWS #BLESSINGCEO #NEWSDAYENTERTAINMENT

It is said that the young man in the photo, named Ahmed Abdullah, was a pharmacist working in a pharmacy. Every month, an elderly poor woman would come to him for her medicine. She would then approach him at the cash register... Whenever she saw him, her face would light up with joy. For years, she had been buying this medicine, and this young man would only take 200 Egyptian pounds from her. She would pay and leave. Then, the young man passed away... The elderly woman returned to the same pharmacy, requested her medicine, and went to the cash register to pay 200 pounds. But he was not there. Before she could ask about him, the new cashier said: “What is this, madam?”She replied: “This is 200 pounds for the medicine.”He responded: “But this medicine costs 2,000 pounds, madam.” Surprised, she said: “But for more than three years, I have been getting it for 200 pounds from the young man who was here... Where is he?” The new cashier replied: “He passed away, madam. May God have mercy on him.” Upon reviewing the records, it was discovered that this young man had been covering 1,800 pounds of the cost every month from his own salary at the pharmacy. When the pharmacy owner learned of this, he decided to continue selling the medicine to the woman at the same price as an ongoing charity (sadaqah jariyah) for the sake of the young man’s pure soul. The least we can do to honor this exemplary young man is to let his photo travel the world without stopping, so that everyone may pray for mercy upon him. He deserves recognition.

May she never have peace and rest wherever she is right now, what an irony of life, after her stupid husband rigged in the second most corrupt president, called Buhari, she is not alive to eat the money her husband collected from Buhari. We Nigerians wait for Yakubu and his family members, they will never have peace after selling Nigeria to the highest bidders, calamity will always be their family's portion.

Inna lilLahi wa Inna ilaiHi raajiuun 💔. I received the sad news of the passing of my friend & brother in Islam, Umar Ahmad Kari. Umar is known for his adherence to the Deen & standing for the Deen. We have shared memorable moments back in the university, that I pray Allah accept from us as an act of Ibadah. His Janazah holds today in Bauchi. May Allah forgive his shortcomings, pardon his sins and overlook his wrongs. May Allah admit him into Jannah together with us all.

He drives a school bus in Dallas, Texas. But the kids on his route call him something else — Dad. Every morning before the sun is fully up, Curtis Jenkins pulls his yellow school bus to the curb and waits. Not just to pick up kids. To see them. For seven years, Curtis noticed things other people missed. The little girl who folded her paper lunch bag perfectly every day but left it on the bus — because there was nothing inside. The boy whose shoes were too small. The kids who got on quiet, eyes down, carrying weight no child should have to carry alone. So Curtis did something simple. He made his bus a community. He gave every child a job — a greeter, an assistant, a "police officer" keeping order in the aisles. Every morning he'd call out, "We're going to care about each other and love everybody, right?" And 50 small voices would answer back. But it didn't stop there. Over the years, Curtis spent thousands of dollars of his own money — money he saved by skipping his own Christmas gifts with his wife — on birthday cards, bikes, backpacks, turkeys at Thanksgiving, and 70 hand-wrapped Christmas presents. He didn't buy random gifts. He asked each child what they wanted. Then he went and got exactly that. No donation page. No announcement. No cameras. When the story finally got out and people questioned how a bus driver could afford it, Curtis just smiled. "It doesn't take money. It takes discipline." But here's the part that will stay with you. When a reporter asked the kids what they loved most about Curtis — not one of them mentioned the gifts. A fifth grader named Ethan, whose parents had divorced when he was four, looked up and said quietly: "He's the father that I always wanted. In some ways, I wish my dad could have been like that." Curtis heard it. Didn't flinch. Just nodded. "That's the paycheck right there," he said later. "If I can get that, you can keep the money." He wasn't looking for a medal. He wasn't going viral on purpose. He was just a man who decided, every single morning, that his bus would be the safest place those kids walked into all day. Sometimes the person who changes a child's life forever isn't a teacher or a coach or a counselor. Sometimes it's the person behind the wheel of a yellow bus at 7 a.m. — who chose to show up, and chose to care, when nobody was asking him to. Tag someone who needs to read this today. 💛

A young American embraced Islam and shared a moment that changed his outlook on life: He said: “One of the first things I learned about Islam is that men and women do not touch each other. One day, my friend took me to the mosque for the first time. There, I met a woman who worked as a librarian, and she gave me a copy of the Qur’an for free. I was so grateful that I reached out my hand to shake hers… but she politely said, ‘Sorry, I can’t shake hands.’ I was curious and asked my friend why. He explained that in Islam, a woman does not touch a man who is not her mahram (a close relative), and a man does not touch a woman who is not related to him. I didn’t fully understand it at first, but I respected it. Just two months later… I embraced Islam. As I began reading hadith, I learned that the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not shake hands with women who were not related to him. I realized that Islam sets boundaries that preserve the dignity of both men and women. Then something happened that made me understand the wisdom even more. One day, I visited a museum and saw signs on paintings and statues that read: ‘Do not touch.’ People respect these objects and don’t touch them, allowing only specialists who understand their value to handle them. So I thought to myself: If people can show this much respect for objects made by human hands, how much more respect should be given to the most beautiful creation of God — women? Women in Islam are not ordinary, to be approached or touched without limits. They are honored and protected. So I made a decision: I will not shake hands with women anymore. Not because I disrespect them, but because I respect them even more. Women are not just passersby… A woman is a queen. He concluded: “Sometimes women ask me why I don’t shake hands, and I tell them it’s part of my religion and a form of respect. Often, it becomes a beautiful opportunity to talk about the beauty of Islam.” Alhamdulillah, Allah has guided me to Islam. 🤍
