Introduction to me. I'm an old, retired janitor/locksmith/ banker/attorney. I love my one & only wife and my 4 adult kids. I'm a USMC brat. I swim and go to church. I lean center/left politically but don't hate the right. I've had 4 different "X" accounts since 2009.

@Oaklraiders1976 I coached LL w/a guy 40 years after that season - we found out we were both Raiders fans. As we got to talking, we both agreed that the Warren Wells from '69 was the greatest receiver we had ever seen.

In a single season, no #raiders player has averaged more yards per rec (min. 40 rec) than Warren Wells did in 1969. Wells averaged 26.8 yards per catch, that led the entire NFL. He led the NFL in recieving yards (1,260) & rec TDs with 14. #raidernation

Meet ST. JADWIGA OF POLAND (1373-1399), also known as Hedwig of Anjou, first female monarch of Poland, founder of Jagiellonian University, & creator of the Diocese of Vilnius, whose bishop she chose with affirmation of the Pope, who backed her ecclesiastical decisions generally.

Looking for summer reading? On May 25, start along with James Madison & the Notes of Debates in the Federal Convention, & read along until September 17. It's illuminating to read it play out daily. This summer, I'll be a bit more ambitious & read Farrand's Records.

Yes, yes, yes I know about coincidences and noticing commonplace things only when they suit your needs blah blah blah. Indulge me this touch of whimsy. I promise to return to the numbers on Monday.

My wife's grandmother loved cardinals. Emy's commented a few times that when important things happen, cardinals seem to visit. When Judson came home and plopped in his favorite chair, I looked out and on the patio was a cardinal. It looked at me, Judson, and Emy, then flew away

@SeanTrende Some of the kids were just like your son, but my kids just seemed to know how to have mutual fun with them. My youngest is now 25 - it was the best thing we ever did as a family. I'd say one night there was better than the best day at Disneyland.

@SeanTrende But here's the thing - it meant so much to us - my family. Our kids all came together, playing + having a blast. I still remember my son pushing a very heavy specially made wheelchair around the bases in kickball + hearing the total glee in the young boy in the chair.

The good thing about the things you dread is that when they finally do happen they are frequently not as terrible as you imagined they would be. I guess that’s a wrap. Now I get to go try to extract a hug from the boy who famously hates hugs.

My thoughts go out to Tulsi Gabbard and her family, as her husband battles this serious health problem. I hope and pray that he makes a speedy and full recovery. While the circumstances around her departure are deserving of our sympathy, let’s be clear: Tulsi Gabbard’s only positive contribution to our nation's national security is her resignation. She politicized intelligence. She dismantled critical agencies keeping Americans safe. She weaponized the IC to pursue baseless election fraud claims. And more. We must ensure that her tenure — marked by a devotion to the person of the president and not to the security of the country — represents a terrible exception at DNI and not the new normal.

@saras76 As someone who is active in progressive circles, I can tell you the premise is wrong for progressives. They hate + constantly belittle nuns, but celebrate women wearing hijab, niqab, etc.

@TheCinesthetic I worked with an attorney who went to boarding school (Phillips Exeter) with Mark Z - he said the movie nailed him.

@Gormogons So true. 1st record I ever bought. After one play, I tucked it under my arm, got on my bike to go listen at my bf's house - disc rolled out of the sleeve & shattered on the cement. I lost the Theme (side 1) and Last Train to Clarksville (2). Still listen to the vinyl record.

@tweetmattingly Very hopeful Colbert returns to his roots. I was a Shriver-style Catholic, became Anglican, but still embrace Shriver's politics. (I'm actually working out of an office for a project that he started when Shriver was head of the OEO.)

@Suli_51 That’s a great way of describing old Colbert. He defended church on many issues, was silent on others
