@YrdAftrContract @tejfbanalytics Did it work for GB? If they have Tee Higgins, Jordyn Brooks, Pittman, McKinney, Jaylon Johnson, or Antoine Winfield in 2020 or 2021 is it enough to push them over the edge for another ring with Rodgers?

@tejfbanalytics I can see both sides of the argument as I’m sure being in QB hell feels never ending. Also worked for GB w/ Love But I think true SB windows are shorter and less common than we believe. Think I’m pushing my chips in the middle over selecting a…mediocre replacement at pick 13.

Everyone will say this but I want to say it too: This is part of the reason why the Ty Simpson pick is so confusing. One of the advantages of drafting a quarterback is the insane surplus value you get from their on field production vs what they’re counting against the cap. The Rams will have at least two seasons of that where they are also paying high end quarterback money as well. Couple that with not having a player like Bain, Lemon etc for these last two years with Stafford. Usually on team “Take the Quarterback” but this is such a unique case!

Rams, QB Matthew Stafford agree to one-year, $55M extension worth up to $60M. (via @AdamSchefter)

@Mazursky8895 I think I like Mensah slightly more (ignoring the portal antics) and want to see what Mastemaker does against some better competition obviously a lot of football left to be played but I think 2027 has a lot of hope to produce a good QB class

@Mazursky8895 Hate the process we took this offseason but if we don’t bring back Rodgers and have Howard and Allar battle it out for the job and let them sink or swim next year all will be forgiven especially if we can get a guy next year if Allar or Howard don’t cut it.

@Steelers_DB This is my hope as well not only would it allow the Steelers to go into 2027 knowing we gave both guys a fair shot but it might also keep the Penn state fans and Ohio state fans from being insufferable this year whenever we have a bad game 🙏

Independent of today’s news, my preference would be for the Steelers to just let Will Howard & Drew Allar battle it out in camp to see who starts. The odds are that both would eventually play anyways. Pittsburgh’s got the necessary offensive eco-system in place to properly evaluate a young quarterback and it would give them the answers (whether good or bad) that they need before the 2027 NFL Draft.

@Steelers_DB Not justifying it at all but growing up in Vegas you learn how gambling can be a slippery slope and see it destroy lives. With how accessible and advertised gambling has become I’m sure this is just one of many and I doubt a whole lot of NFL owners would touch him now.

@DHolla24 @freddydoubles Even if it is just a “5 minute delay” (probably closer to 10) that means if a solo plays through 4 groups it’s turning 4:15 rounds into 4:35 rounds in your estimation but realistically probably turning 4:15 rounds into 5 hour rounds for everyone behind them

@DHolla24 @freddydoubles Average tee times have 8-10 minutes spread. If a solo plays through 4 groups the course is then 2 tee times behind pace and that’s not accounting for the time the group ahead spent on the tee box waiting for the solo behind them to finish the hole and catch up.

@elitetakes_ It’s so hard to evaluate Ohio State QBs with the insane amount of talent they have at receiver but from what I’ve watched I would probably have him behind Moore, Mensah, Manning, Mastemaker, Carr, and Sorsby in no particular order but there is a year for things to change

@Steelers_DB I love Sonny Styles but I love him even more in Washington under Quinn and him getting to spend a season learning from Bobby Wagner. As he started climbing boards and the Steelers were no longer in play for him I wanted him to end up in Washington.

Washington to a lesser degree, hard to make it on a list like this when you don't have second or fourth rounder to work with. But they landed my number one player, got a secondary pass catcher that is a good fit for Jayden and took a high upside swing on a talented edge rusher in the 5th.

Well, that was fun— another draft in the books. Just wanna say that I really appreciate all of the support once again this year, whether it was my writing, the YouTube channel or the pod. Looking forward to doing it all over again next year.

@TheoAshNFL @sponhourm My issue isn’t with Allar it is where we picked him. I think him, Cole Payton and Nussmeier are all similarly tiered QBs and the other two were both on the board over 100 picks later. The Steelers have mismanaged this draft so much on a value just overall management perspective.

I think Allar has been taken for granted. Positive EPA and good pressure to sack numbers for three years. Led good offenses. Can be positive late in the play. Penn St. WRs let him down when he tried to play with rhythm. Very valid shot to take in the middle rounds

@Steelers_DB Ugly ugly pick. If you wanted to draft someone who may never play a snap for the team might as well take the flyer on McCoy on the bright side hopefully this means Rodgers isn’t coming back

Even as someone who has tried to use common sense to rationalize the George Pickens trade, using that pick to select Drew Allar is absolutely gross lol

The Steelers have selected Alabama WR Germie Bernard, my WR11 and 59th ranked player overall. Ultimate glue guy that’s content doing the dirty work for the offense, working over the middle through traffic without hesitation and fighting for first downs post-catch. His real value comes from his contributions as a blocker; he can play condensed to the formation and pin bigger guys on perimeter runs or fit up safeties in the box. He struggled to track the ball at times, leading to an underwhelming contested catch rate, but he’s got the size and mental makeup of a useful role player.

@LedyardNFLDraft I think my favorite team fit is Sonny Styles and the Commanders. As much as I like Caleb Downs I think either has potential to be the best player in the class (especially under Quinn) but I think Styles having a year learning under Bobby Wagner is going to benefit him so much.

Couple Round 1 picks I loved: Giants - Arvell Reese. I hope he plays off the ball there (havent seen what they've said about him yet), the stuff they can do in the pressure game now is nuts. Absurdly explosive and long front 7

@Steelers_DB I really liked Reese no matter where he played however I will say I think his ceiling is a lot higher at LB then edge (plus I think LB play has been mediocre lately in the league and we need more great LBs)
