I visited china but I canceled my trip in mid. It's so fcking dystopian in the cities, you can't touch grass in the cities all ground is covered with tiles like a shopping mall and the rural areas have no attraction to begin with.

Here’s what “impressed” me so far about china:
1. Safe – Police, cameras and drones every 50 meters. If you look at someone the wrong way, your Social Credit Score just hit a new low.
2. Green – The parks are beautiful… as long as you don’t breathe the air. The trees are carrying more fine dust than leaves.
3. Clean – The streets get swept multiple times a day. The homeless are simply locked away or “relocated” to the provinces. Out of sight, out of statistics.
4. Alipay is used for everything – Payments, taxis, translations… and of course they track every single step. You basically carry a tracking app in your wallet that also rates you.
5. Tourism built for Chinese, not foreigners – True. Almost no one speaks English, but there are red banners with party slogans everywhere. Very authentic.
6. Crazy traffic – Cars and motos don’t stop for pedestrians on green. But they do stop at red for the next bribe. Darwin Awards live on the streets.
7. Robots everywhere – Robots clean the streets and deliver food. At the same time, drones deliver the next warning if your Social Score drops below 800 again.
8. Eclectic mix – Super cool combination of ancient traditions and hyper-modern dystopia. One street has 500-year-old temples, the next has 500 meters of prostitution, and in between 500 million people living in total poverty who officially don’t count as poor.
Welcome to China, where the statistics always win and reality always loses.

7. Robots cleaning the streets & delivering room service
8. Eclectic - very cool mix between local traditions & contemporary ideas

While it is a fair point that Indian companies are investing in the US because it's the world's largest consumer and capital market, let's not forget two things: 1) India is undergoing a very serious balance-of-payment crisis; 2) India, as a rapidly developing country, is desperate for capital. What's worse, the dreadful inequality in India means that a few business houses control a disproportionately high share of capital. So, when India as a country is very capital-scarce, these super-rich are unimaginably capital-abundant. Even if every penny drained from India comes at a much higher opportunity cost than for other countries, these business houses are so happy to align themselves with the US, responding to the call of "Making America Great Again".
