We’ve known about the Sabatier process for a while, but on Earth there is no motivation to improve on it (or even use it at all). The existence of the ISS and preparation for Mars motivates.

@FAANews @SpaceX Just to clear some things up. I agree and am onboard for being interplanetary. The main issue I’m bringing up here is that we need to take precautions to eliminate global warming and “space” debris. Considering these are important issues I don’t see why this is controversial.
