@robinjazz @Horatioforever This is incredible! Might we have your permission to use this in our digital exhibit? If so, can we credit you by name? Or with your twitter handle?
English

@2019Ifaw @last_of_england One of the things we're really hoping to do is to build exhibits for gravestoneproject.com that account for other forms of memorialization--to try to account for those (the majority) who didn't have access to memorialization in stone.
English

@TubunMuzuru @Horatioforever Thank you so much for tagging us! Might we have your permission to use this photo in our digital exhibit? If so, can we credit you by your twitter handle? Or name?

@last_of_england @2019Ifaw Oh goodness!!!! I've been hoping to find someone from this flickr group! I wasn't sure how to contact people. I'm going to DM you.
English

@2019Ifaw @TheGravestoneP I've photographed hundreds of memorials with the cause of death on them over the years, 250-odd of the best ones are here: flickr.com/photos/norfolk… but very few of them record a death in childbirth.
English

@last_of_england This is so beautiful--and gutting. Might you grant us permission to include it in a digital exhibit we're pulling together on gravestoneproject.com? If so, can we credit you by name? Thanks for considering. This is such a powerful memorial and we'd love to include it.
English

@2019Ifaw This is amazing! It's really fantastic and I'd love to figure out a way to work it in. I will likely include a handful of more general / vague descriptions of the moment of death, and this might work well with those.
English

Tagging @TheGravestoneP as I like the unusual (albeit unspecific) way his death is described.

#MementoMoriMonday.
Late but worth the wait. Great trip today to Grade I St Margaret's Church, Lewknor, #Oxfordshire. Loved the touching C17 alabaster tomb of Sir T. Fleetwood & wife.

@NuitsdeY @Portaspeciosa @PosyHill1 @liz_pain @HullMinster oh goodness! What a beautiful statue, and what a terrible thing for that family to have suffered. Might we use these images, too?
English

This heartbreaking panel is at Wormington church, #Gloucestershire, depicting Anne Savage, who died in childbirth in 1605. A perfect room depicted, how all must've hoped it would be... #MementoMoriMonday

English

@StroudStory Oh my goodness. This is amazing. Might you give us permission to use your photographs in an upcoming digital exhibit on gravestoneproject.com? If so, can we credit you by name?
English

@PosyHill1 Thank you for this!!! The cherubs are very evocative.

RT-ing for @TheGravestoneP and their online project.
Do you "Have any pics of gravestones / memorials that include a cause of death—from extraordinary accidents to chronic illness? We’re putting together a gallery as part of a digital exhibit to launch later this summer."
English

@RWLDproject Oh gosh, I'm perpetually behind. Going through my tens of thousands of personal graveyard photos at present. 🤯
English

@TheGravestoneP Also - you're on our list for some more suggestions tomorrow... promise!
English

@victoriansleuth @RachelPollitt Wonderful! I can pull the image from twitter if that's okay! Do you want me to credit your name, twitter handle, or both? And I'll try to link to your article about the stone / murder!

An interesting #gravestone in our churchyard. A loving tribute to a Mother and Wife. Ann you sounded delightful. "She bare 25 children in 11yrs 7mths 24dys." "She was kind and benevolent a cheerful companion." "A kind and indulgent parent." @Touchstones

English

@victoriansleuth @RachelPollitt P.S. I'm hoping we'll be able to link to articles about some stones, in which case we'd love to include your photograph and link to your website. This is such a singular stone!!
English

@victoriansleuth @RachelPollitt This is amazing! We're putting together a digital exhibit on stones that mention a cause of death. I'd love to use this in some way if you'd grant us permission.
