These are the three top candidates for mayor of Chicago in the next election: Alexi Giannoulias, Susana Mendoza, and Brandon Johnson. I don’t think Brandon has much of a chance, so it’s basically between Alexi and Susana. Who do you think has a better chance of becoming the next mayor of Chicago?

NEW: Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson says the city cannot “arrest our way to safety.”

There is almost certainly no provision in the parking meter deal’s terms that would grant Chicago the right to any concession if a change in ownership happens. It is probably some kind of limited provision for the city to make sure the rights are not sold to like, the Iranians, or some other problematic group. Also why Chicago deserve a concession? That would be like me asking for a kickback if thr guy I soldy old car to wants to sell it to someone else. That’s a slopulist stance

New: The group that owns the 75-year lease of Chicago’s parking meters has reached a private deal to transfer the rights to Stonepeak Partners for an undisclosed price. The deal must be approved by the City Council.
