I will read & respond to every single one over the coming weeks. Today I had my first day off since the decision & spent it with my daughter. It was lovely. Tomorrow, it’s back to work. A major medical journal published a POEM by an MD about forgetting that she was on call, not knowing how to perform the necessary procedure when she finally showed up late, and plausibly being responsible for that patient’s death. She learns to forgive her laziness and incompetence by shopping online, watching TV, and playing with her dog. I’m not kidding. This was published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, a serious, high-impact journal run by the American College of Physician that publishes clinical guidelines, systematic evidence reviews, and methods papers. The poem contains no indication of sorrow, regret, or taking responsibility for what happened. This isn’t the message you’d want or expect a leading medical journal to elevate as part of its stated mission to “promote excellence in medicine.” Unbelievable.

I'm so tired of having to see my body in the mirror and facing how disfigured my chest is from 7 years of HRT, my whole adolescence. Every time I look at my breasts or have aching pain from the lumps in my bones I see the faces of the people who did this to me and I can't help but start to feel hate towards them and towards all of the institutions who were supposed to help me find justice but refused too. I'm disgusted with how many snakes exist in this world.

The creation of the first detransitioner clinic at Texas Children's Hospital is a massive win and a big step toward exposing the lie that “gender-affirming care” is evidence based and medically necessary. Gender doctors and activists have to be FORCED to acknowledge detransitioners because their existence shines a bright light on the pseudoscientific lie that everyone is born with an innate and immutable gender identity we all sense from toddlerhood, that it can be misaligned from our bodies, and that this mismatch can be corrected with puberty blockers, hormones, and surgeries. This is all complete nonsense. I am glad to have been able to discuss this with @PrishaMosley recently on @NTDNews.
