In Sydney, Australia, an Indian immigrant sexually assaults a young woman on a metro train. When bystanders called him out, he fled the scene. When I was 17 & had to catch the train to the city in Melbourne every week day, I learnt very quickly to never sit next to these men & to get up when they sat next to me. I can’t count the amount of times I was grabbed & groped. And this isn’t the only time in my life this happened. I would never catch public transport, taxis/ Ubers on my own again. Self preservation is NOT racism. Pattern recognition is an essential human survival skill. Trying to silence girls & women that share their experiences & horror stories is ABUSE. Sadly I have lots of horror stories & yes my immigration views are based on my lived experience & what I’ve seen happen around me. 3rd world immigration puts us in danger & Multiculturalism has FAILED.
