@Sir_Dammed Yotei made it clear that its priorities were in DEI pandering rather than making an enjoyable sequel. My interest died on the vine.

I remember gamers talking about and praising Tsushima for years after it came out. It regularly being referenced in people's top lists or top recommendations, gameplay videos, people being annoyed by its under recognition and lack of awards, etc. None of that for Yotei. It died out quicker than discussion about indies like Schedule 1. It's almost like... when you deliberately design games to go against the preferences of the target audience based upon nonsense surveys which assert 50% of gamers are female, they're not going to land well.

@realradec This is all nostalgia, most of these franchises wouldn’t do well nowadays. Only a handful if done right stand a chance but it’s still hit or miss.

The future is bright for dormant PlayStation franchises to return with Sony willing to license out their IP more -Bandai Namco released Freedom Wars Remastered, Patapon 1+2, and a new Hot Shots Golf last year -Infamous is reported to return -People Can Fly is working on an established PS IP I actually wouldn't be surprised if we got new games from franchises like Ape Escape, Twisted Metal, and Wipeout within the next few years
