My boy left primary school today. He cried hugging his teacher of the last two years who supported him (autism) Took him to McDonald’s to cheer him up, and as we left, his classmates came in. He wasn’t told or invited. He cried into his McFlurry as we pulled away in the car 😔💔

@KatieHunnyBee @_D_a_n___ That's really sad, I can totally sympathise. Our daughter is lovely, talkative and sociable but people often don't talk to her because her behaviour is quirky. Their loss!

@TimMurray5 @_D_a_n___ Bless her ❤️ brave girl for stepping outside her comfort zone 🌻 I think society is trying to put in rules and regulations to celebrate Neurodiversity, but it’s more in school faculty and the workplace. It’s the everyday person in most cases with my son. There’s no empathy.

@KatieHunnyBee @_D_a_n___ Couldn't agree more. Society needs to be aware of, tolerate, and celebrate neurodiverse behaviour. Our daughter finished Primary School today: she put on her ear-defenders and made a big effort to attend the noisy + emotional leavers' assembly. I felt so proud of her.
