My hot take is US Senators should be paid whatever their states minimum wage is. That’s how you represent your constituents, you live like them.

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

Imagine living in Tennessee, a state that severely restricts reproductive rights, even in cases of assault, while there are people openly calling for the death penalty for women who have abortions. Let that sink in. A woman could be abused, assaulted, pregnant against her will, and the response is to force her to carry that pregnancy regardless of her safety or health. That’s not “protecting life.” That’s stripping autonomy and compounding trauma. You cannot claim to value women and families while supporting policies that endanger them. What in the actual fudge muffin is happening.

When talking to girls and young women about sexual assault, include what happens when saying no doesn't work. It’s literally illegal to put up financial barriers to vote — that’s a poll tax, and it’s prohibited by the 24th Amendment of the Constitution. I know the Constitution doesn’t mean much to conservatives these days, but it’s still the law. When obtaining the proper ID is free and widely accessible to US citizens, then we can talk about voter ID laws.

If it's just about "having to have an ID to vote"? Why would Republicans oppose a free Federal ID being issued? And if they claim to support that, why isn't it in the SAVE bill?

Women are being arrested for miscarrying in states with strict abortion bans. They don’t charge them with a miscarriage, they charge them with “abuse of a corpse” What are we supposed to do? Take the fetal remains to the police station? Pregnancy is not safe in these states.
