@MJJBayBay They all want to appear unbiased and professional, so they say they aren’t fans of the team, and then they compensate by giving overly critical takes. It’s a media thing. Other franchises’ media are better at balancing it.

@nhl_review Only, he wasn’t assessed a major for charging or boarding. It was for interference. So your point is moot. Contact was to the chest, and he could have been skating hard… instead he was gliding. This is not an excessively violent hit. Late, but not overly violent. Sorry.

Vegas fans don’t like it, but league likely has another angle of this. The angle we DO have shows McNabb left skate come off ice first, then right skate right before contact is made.

Looks like VGK may be without McNabb for at least one more game. Honestly very surprised by this. Do not see how this is a suspendable hit at all. Penalty, sure. Suspension, no way.

@TDChrisG @SycamoreTwe Technically it is. The rule is not written “a major can be called if the player is injured.” It’s degree of violence. And that was not an excessively violent hit. I’m sorry his head pinballs, but that’s not an excessively violent hit. Especially in the playoffs.

Folks, the rule is right there. Did McNabb interfere with a player? Yes. Was said player injured, yes. I don't like the process of getting to the call. But it's the right call.

Or better yet, maybe migrate to something like basketball, where getting slapped slightly on the arm is called a foul. Man, this sport has attracted some very soft people lately.
