In Craig, Alaska, on September 14th, the Craig Tribal Association hosted Craig’s first Haida pole in their community, with master carver Reg Davidson. As the pole raised, you can feel the united positive energy for this momunmental moment on Kaigani Haida land.

The City of Klawock pays tribute to the invaluable first responders. A first-of-its-kind totem pole carved by tribal citizen Jonathan Rowan commemorates Klawock’s longtime police chief, Terry Stonecipher, who passed away unexpectedly in January 2023.

During a two-day celebration in Klawock, Dennis Nickerson led a group out of the carving shed on Aug. 17, carrying the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Totem Pole, carved by tribal citizen Jonathan Rowan.

At tonight's Southeast Conference banquet, President Peterson and 1st VP Pata were presented with the 2023 Business of the Year award! Tribal governments made up 10% of all government jobs, 3% of all jobs, employed 1,247 full-time staff, and infused $70.3 million in wages.
