An old couple approached the Allahabad HC seeking maintenance from their daughter-in-law, stating that they were aged, illiterate, and financially dependent on their son during his lifetime. After their son died in 2021, they were left without any means of sustenance. It was argued that all service-related and retiral benefits went to the wife, who is also a constable in the UP Police, and therefore should maintain them. The court rejected their plea as per the law. A daughter-in-law is not required to maintain her deceased husband’s parents, even if she receives all the benefits and pension. On the other hand, if a husband dies, the wife can claim maintenance from her in-laws. Even if she remarries, she can still claim her share in the ancestral property from the father-in-law. Why are we running a Kalyug society with Satyug rules?

Dhurandhar is a Bollywood film Ideally Amitabh Bachchan should have praised it... But India's greatest actor Rajinikanth did… Shah Rukh, Salman Khan, Aamir khan should have tweeted... But Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR and Ram Charan did… Sanjay Leela Bhansali should have spoken... But S. S. Rajamouli did… Most embarrassing part? Even Ranveer Singh's wife Deepika Padukone hasn't praised it yet… If you truly understand Bollywood... you'll understand this tweet… It's still not too late...

NEET-PG has 200 questions. Four marks for a correct answer, one deducted for a wrong one. So even with zero knowledge, blindly marking A for all questions will, statistically, still fetch around 40–60 marks by random chance. You need to be a special kind of idiot to score 1 in such a scenario. This shows that you have neither medical knowledge nor common sense. And the biggest irony is that we are making such people specialist doctors. What a country, and what a system, man!

Proposed RBI draft guidelines on third part products advertising and selling by Public sector banks. Good move by RBI but I wonder this will stop miselling in PSB because fee senior officers of PSB are so corrupt and greedy that they will find way out from every guidelines to make quick money . For years I have been opposing this third party products sale by PSB but it is the same RBI which allowed PSB to copy this disease from HDFC bank started by poorie . rbidocs.rbi.org.in/rdocs/Content/…

A better banking experience starts with a sustainable workweek. With acute staff shortages and mounting stress, 5-day banking is about public service and employee well-being, not a privilege. UFBU has been pressing since 2015; IBA has already recommended it to the Government (MoU 07-12-2023), and the 12th Bipartite/9th Joint Note (08-03-2024) records the Saturday holiday clause, pending approvals/clearances. Honour what’s on record. Approve all Saturdays off. #Implement5DayBanking

Your annual reminder that satya, ahinsa, satyagrah had no role in Britain’s decision to free India. The real reasons: 1. WWII left Britain bankrupt, owing huge debts, making colonial administration too costly. 2. That debt was mostly from the US, which opposed old-style imperialism via the Atlantic Charter (1941) and pressured the UK to decolonize. 3. The Labour Party came to power in 1945 in the UK. It was openly anti-imperialist, seeing the empire as a burden and focusing on building the welfare state instead of maintaining colonial rule. 4. The western world was seeing a rise of anti-colonial sentiments. WWII’s rhetoric of freedom and democracy clashed with imperial rule; colonialism was increasingly seen as hypocritical and illegitimate globally. 5. The United Nations came into existence, and its 1945 Charter encouraged self-government; Britain faced international scrutiny and moral pressure to grant independence. 6. The rise of armed nationalist movements in colonies like India and Palestine made governance costly and unstable. The British army was overstretched, under-equipped, and war-weary, unable to manage widespread armed insurgencies. As a result, Britain freed over 60 colonies after WWII, usually based on their economic value and the resources needed to control them. Only one of these had satya, ahinsa, satyagrah. If that really worked, India would have been free decades earlier; Gandhi had been waving that banner for years, and the British didn’t budge until they were broke and exhausted. So the idea that dedi hame aazadi bina khadag bina dhaal is is simply not true.

In India, following these few survival skills could cut your chances of dying randomly by half : Don't go to crowded places. Follow defensive driving. Don't stare, abuse (even with closed glass), or argue with aggressors on the road. Anticipate stray/pet dogs at any spot. Don't leave your kids out of sight. Don't walk or drive under electrical wires, especially look for them in the streets before you enter. Be a socio-political critic, but try not to hurt the ego of any politician, babu, cop, or religious fanatic personally. Learn 8–10 common phrases of the local language in language-sensitive states if you are planning to stay there for long, or just carry a skull cap. Anticipate open sewers and manholes, especially on roads you are not familiar with. Don't stand under giant billboards or flyovers, especially during rains. Try not to go out at night. If you have to, don't go alone. Especially women of your family, don't care if someone calls you a misogynist. Avoid nightclubs where Scorpio/Thar-wale urban dehatis are allowed. Avoid eating out as much as you can, especially street food. Health insurance is almost a fraud, govt hospitals are in bad shape, and private ones are too costly. So better stay in shape and avoid frequent hospital visits. Run, exercise, eat healthy.

When Jihadi commit violence in the name of Islam, it's they who link the religion to fear, not the victims or co-religionists raising concerns about this dangerous trend. So logically, Muslims worldwide should be leading protests, campaigns, and openly condemning such acts, making it clear their faith doesn't endorse brutality. Let terrorists know their community doesn’t stand with them. But that rarely happens. I recall when the Saudi football team refused to observe a minute's silence for the London Bridge terror attack victims before their 2017 FIFA WC qualifier against Australia. Though they later apologised after the outrage, the message had already been sent, loud and clear. And here lies the contradiction: when victims or their communities raise genuine fears about religious radicalization and the threat to their lives, the silence suddenly breaks, but only to accuse them of “Islamophobia.” The very people who said nothing when terrorists hijacked their religion are now quick to defend its image by attacking those expressing fear. And many alleged Hindus, with zero self-respect or connection with reality, make their job easier by echoing their propaganda.

Cricket has witnessed many legendary encounters, but none compare to the historic clash between South Africa and Australia on March 12, 2006(exactly on this day 19 years ago), at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. It was a match that defied belief, setting new standards for batting, shattering records, and pushing the limits of human endurance. This wasn't just another ODI—it was the ODI, the match that redefined what was possible in the game of cricket.
