@burnthelilacs you kinda lose the "boys can be feminine" angle if you not only allow but encourage people to call you a girl and treat you like one too. it's very weird.

@burnthelilacs what is even supposed to be deconstructed by someone who presents stereotypically feminine, is validated by being called a girl, expresses dysphoria at being considered masculine, but says "I'm a boy" online?

actually we transition because of dysphoria not because of your gender abolition pet project

@blmatsu @d0ndulce Transgenderism is meant to deconstruct gender roles but instead you all choose to be Christian conservatives and uphold gender norms and force people into them.

Sorry if I’m being ignorant, where are the figures that demonstrate trans women pose a threat to anyone in single sex spaces? There must be overwhelming research evidence and figures given the air time this is being given.

tl;dr most of the socialisation that needs "unlearning" isn't gender specific, it's invoked specifically against people who have already put work and conscious thought into rejecting a gender specific socialisation and learning a new one, and is weaponised by transmisogynists.

over them in a way that implies it is inescapable, and frankly is often used by transmisogynists as a cudgel against trans women to imply that their knowledge of womanhood is inherently limited, they do not truly embody their gender, or that they pose some threat.

my main contention in discussion of "having AGAB socialisation" is that most of our socialisation, including ideas about what constitutes masculinity and femininity and male and female roles is handed down to everyone, with the expectation that we passively absorb what that means

@ceentralia sorry, i've rewritten this like three times trying to get it twitter concise. i think it may just become a thread that i link here in a bit. besides that, sorry for the way the end of that message came off. i didn't intend it to sounds like it was casting doubt like that.
