Japan🇯🇵 just pledged $10 billion to help Asian countries weather the oil crisis. Japan delivers, quietly, consistently, and without turning aid into a spectacle or a debt trap. Most Europeans have no idea that Japan has pledged around $20 billion in support for Ukraine. Yet many of the loudest European leaders who champion Ukraine's cause preside over countries that have provided far less in actual material assistance. In contrast with Japan, China's "aid" is overwhelmingly loans and infrastructure deals under the Belt and Road Initiative - opaque, tied to resource extraction or strategic access, and riddled with debt-trap risks that leave recipients beholden and colonized. China talks big about Global south solidarity and "win-win" cooperation, but the track record shows otherwise. When actual support is needed most in times of crises, the commitment that proves reliability over rhetoric is usually absent. Japan puts its money where its mouth is, fostering trust through deeds. Actions over loud state media declarations and propaganda campaigns on social media reveal true character on the global stage. This is why Singapore PM Lawrence Wong said what he said about Japan being a deeply trusted partner for Southeast Asia, which kicked off very angry reactions from Chicoms. @MsMelChen Could you elaborate on that Europe can't police its own streets? We've all noticed the MAGA-narrative about Europe collapsing in crime because of inmigration, but is that what you're implying?

Europe can't police its own streets but their leaders just hopped on a conference call to discuss how to plan to police the Strait of Hormuz - postwar, of course I hope Europe surprises me and that the performative multilateralism leads to something actually useful and concrete

NATO has been the bedrock of our national security for over 75 years. Walking away from our strongest allies during a period of global instability is a serious mistake that makes every American less safe.

@Libertarian_ish @ShadowofEzra Is it possible that he "quits" simply because he does not believe in the politics of the administration anymore? DJT promised no more foreign wars and a healthy stronger economy for americans. Is what we now see what you voted for?

@ProudElephant Can we expect DJT to consider a small nuke over Iran soon? (Honest question, he sounds quite cornered up..)

@Leah742 There are a lot of reasons to be concerned. The pressure is clearly building up on DJT, and he sounds desperate. Democrats now have one job: Focus on the Midterms. Make it right this time. We are many outside the U.S. who are counting on you.

We are the bad guys now. In my 50 years, I've always been proud to be an American. We all warned so many about trump, and no one listened. Now, America is a shithole in a little over a year of trump 2.0. We are who humanitarians warned us about in other countries.

BREAKING : 🇮🇷 German leaders have now openly revolted against Trump & Netanyahu “Iran war is not about freedom and peace, or the Strait of Hormuz. It’s all about oil and US dollar” 🔥 🇪🇸 Spain, 🇫🇷 France & now Germany also humiliating Trump. Europe is finally uniting against Zionists 🫡

@elonmusk You don't have to be an astrophysicist to figure that out (I myself am a Sagittarius, by the way ♐️❤️). Every LLM I have met so far has its biases, and we (the consumers) should consider them not only as large and logic language models but also as business models.

I can promise this: The Senate will not vote to leave NATO and abandon our allies just because Trump is upset they wouldn’t go along with his reckless war of choice.   Thank you to @SecRubio for sponsoring the bill in 2023 requiring a two thirds vote of the Senate to make sure clueless presidents couldn’t act on a whim.
Senator Marco Rubio: Archived@SenMarcoRubio

No U.S. President should be able to withdraw from NATO without Senate approval. Thankful my colleagues in Congress passed this bipartisan measure.

@DeltaJ26 @sentdefender True, and therefore it would not be wise to do so. The narrative about Europe piggybacking the U.S. is not resonating with most Europeans and U.S. citizens understanding. It might suit the illusion of MAGA -US being exploited and betrayed tough. Imho this is not in US interest.

In addition to his remarks to Reuters on Iran, U.S. President Donald J. Trump reiterated his criticisms of NATO on their lack of support for U.S. operations against Iran and ventures to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, adding that he is “absolutely” considering withdrawing the U.S. from the trans-Atlantic defense alliance.
