Erika Taubner Gold was 5 years old when she received this clover charm in Hungary in 1937. After the German occupation, Erika’s parents decided to bury the charm and other valuables in their basement. Erika and her parents survived and recovered the valuables in January 1945.

On #TDIH in 1564, Galileo Galilei was born. A physicist and astronomer, Galileo made many important discoveries, including the four largest moons of Jupiter, called the Galilean satellites (pictured here in a composite image).

Today we honor Susie King Taylor (Aug 6, 1848 – Oct 6, 1912), educator, nurse and author. She was the first Black nurse during the American Civil War, and the first Black woman to publish her memoirs about her Civil War experiences. #WomensHistory #BHM
