That's quite interesting. But at what point do we differentiate between asymptomatic VDRL positive and APS positive?

Just read that patients with antiphosholipid syndrome can have a false positive VDRL result . Perhaps next time I see a woman with multiple miscarriages,I’d just order a VDRL as a preliminary investigation,considering the fact that autoimmune tests are not readily available!

Exactly.
Repeated miscarriages? Think APS (it makes blood clot too much).
APS antibodies often make the cheap VDRL syphilis test positive… even if you don’t have syphilis.
No money for expensive APS tests?
Just do VDRL first. Positive result = cheap red flag for APS.
That’s it. One cheap test can point you in the right direction and save pregnancies.

@Walk_yea I understand. But some of them will simply deny, because they usually feel embarrassed.
Other clues are useful, e.g. overweight + dental staining + signs of intentional vomiting .. etc..
