@Joe_Trinder The Treaty was indeed between two groups - the Crown (British) and the Maori. Maori ceded sovereignty in order that they might have the same rights and privileges as the first group. That they gained, making ONE group with the same rights for ALL. Maori have no extra rights.

The treaty is between two groups the chiefs and tribes and the respective families and the British royal family. David Seymour has deliberately twisted his interpretation of the treaty to suit his political agenda . Nowhere does the treaty say that it is between the descendants of the British colonist of the 21st-century and the British royal family that is a undeniable fact. Twisting the treaty to exclude tangata whenua is about the most unpatriotic and downright racist acts of betrayal. It is a deliberate attempt to dishonour the Treaty and New Zealanders that support his perspective are simply not Kiwis they are British colonists.
