@aj_inapi This is how every culture in history viewed their elders until recently. It's foolish to dismiss as irrelevant people who have had far more life experience and pretty much everyone used to understand this. The internet isn't going to teach wisdom or life experience.

I don't know about you but for me personally, I feel that if someone was born years before me, I would like to think that they'd be far ahead in life than me in all aspects of life as an adult.

I don't want to act like I know, only because I don't live in America. Why are boomers being vilified in America and more so in the West? I see a growing trend of this online.

@NoahWhey Same. They think previous generations just got handed everything but then didn't pass it down to them, and are resentmentful about it, but that's delusional. People worked, saved, sacrificed, *maybe* got ahead after years. No one felt the world owed them anything until recently.

I’m Gen X. My parents are Boomers. The more complaints I read by Millennials and younger, it feels like they don’t actually KNOW any Boomers and are just projecting their frustrations onto them.

Every Saturday morning I have breakfast with a bunch of old farmers. Discussion today was population decline and replacement rate in the US. They've come up with a very simple yet elegant solution to increase birth rates. Bring back bench seats in pickup trucks.

@CynicalPublius Hardly anyone used to believe the world "owed them a living" until recently. Now there's resentment for not getting things they haven't earned and wanting to blame someone for it, coupled with profound ignorance about what it was really like for past generations.

In the 80s my furniture was from Goodwill, I fixed my 1972 Chrysler with parts from the junkyard, ramen was my primary food source and I recall having Wonder Bread toast with mustard for dinner because that's all I could afford. Gen Z has created an America that never existed.

Now that Senate Majority John Thune refuses to protect election integrity, I am disgusted with my party.
