@Westersingel41 @tobiaschneider you need more like 3000m2 ground space to build a house like this. standard new building spaces in Germany are around 500m2. So you need to find an existing property with the right to build a house in this size, which is not that easy.

In Germany? Bundesliga champion. In the US? Above average corporate lawyer or IT guy

@sven89exp @tobiaschneider point is that property prices vary, 100m2 ground space in central Berlin costs a lot more than 100m2 ground space in the rural parts of Brandenburg.

@Westersingel41 @POTFES I know, quality is terrible at most supermarkets. Specially the bread. I prefer landmarkt for that, although not cheap. You do know Bettina Bakt at the van Woustraat ? Her pastry is “almost” as good as my German grandmothers made it

@ron_arnhard @POTFES I found it kinda interesting that here in Amsterdam the supermarkets with fresh butcher and fresh bakery have so far been always bigger Turkish supermarkets haha. Sahan in Oost is my go to, also meat costs a lot less/kilo and is better quality than AH etc

@Westersingel41 @POTFES If living in Amsterdam you should know there’s a German bakery in the Rivierenbuurt. Also recommend an excellent French bakery in Amstelveen. And for good Dutch bread I go to the Landmarkt in the east

@enzoreds haven't read Kant in English, but man, in German the density of his writing is quite intense. While complex syntax is a flex in German language, in English it's (in my experience) the reverse - so could help in reducing complexity to read in English.

There are Germans who prefer reading Kant in English

@Porkchop_EXP @POTFES In the supermarket mostly get just Toast in different colors... maps.app.goo.gl/EFczcvNddwEMpV… I have good bakeries around, but then it also means I need to queue for 20min. Not uncommon to have people buying 60€+ worth of bread, and need to get it cut, too.

@POTFES just googlemaps for Bakkerij or Banket Bakkerij, or Bakkers. Often more like cakes + sweets focus, but mostly offers good bread, too. My experience is that good Turkish/Moroccan Bakeries are sometimes more available & affordable, also offering typical 'Western' bread.

@biz_socks It's just for the tourists. Usually too dense to look for the ticket machines or don't understand our contactless payment machines on every bus, train and tram. This is only a think around Central Station in Amsterdam
