🚨 NEW: A Government review has found employers must adapt to the "bedroom generation" of unemployed 16-24 year olds by offering more flexibility It says they're "not snowflakes or faking it" and their anxiety and depression is linked to growing up on social media [@thetimes]

My friends have applied for hundreds of jobs, one recent graduate applied for over 500. They are lucky if they receive a formal rejection rather than simply ignored, never mind an offer The issue is that there simply are no jobs, both entry level and especially at graduate level

@TalkingWolves Everyone get behind Edwards. The team he inherited was lacking and had already given up. Mane and Andre staying for next season as they believe in what he is doing.

Andre 🇧🇷 💬 #WWFC “I really want to help him [Rob Edwards]. He’s a sensational guy who deserves to take the club back to the Premier League. “With the players who are coming in, I believe it will be a very strong squad in which he will have complete control of the situation. I hope that our team can return to the Premier League and may we have many happy years at Wolverhampton.”

Private landlords are costing the UK £40 billion in housing benefit every year. They are a drain on the economy and do no work, providing no productivity or growth.
Kirstie Allsopp@KirstieMAllsopp

Surprise, surprise @wesstreeting is on @BBCr4today bashing landlords. I’ve got news for you mate, we can’t have a “productive nation” without people having homes, so if you want to tax Landlords to hell, I’d build some alternative accommodation first ‘cos you’re going to need it.

@elladorn_ vehicles are $50k, most american cities have extremely limited public transportation, and on top of that, they’re competing with people who’ve been laid off who already have experience in those jobs. “phone bad” is a way to transfer the blame from those in charge

"Bedroom generation" very funny. Are we implying that there are enough (real-life) jobs for these 16-24 year olds, reachable for those who don't drive (etc), willing to hire without experience, & that young people are just refusing to take them?

@Swiftiestan04 @PolitlcsUK @thetimes What about car valeter, refuse collector or street sweeper? It seems everyone wants a nice grad job, but nobody wants to get their hands dirty. They would rather be on benefits than take tough work.

@PolitlcsUK @thetimes As a 21 year, this is absolute bullshit. The reason why so many are unemployed is not because of social media but the fact the government is doing nothing to give young people opportunities. There’s hardly any apprenticeships or grads jobs and even if we do have a job we can >>

@PolitlcsUK @thetimes Disingenuous to label 16-24 year olds in this way who are desperately trying to get jobs but can’t because there just aren’t any

@AsBrexit @DH_1997_ So why didn’t Remain run their campaign on keeping immigration white/European. They would probably have won if they did

@JAU_4 @BloozEXTRA Sort the gas, electric, water and infrastructure first, in such a way that it is robust and will last. Then lay the nice paving. Leave it in place and don’t dig it up.

@WolvesAyWeFC @BloozEXTRA Ok so - Don't dig anything up in the first place... Got it. So how do you propose getting your gas, electric, water, Internet? I'm invested in your ideas...

Bankrupt council or not. How this is allowed is beyond thinkable. Complete disregard for the aesthetic of Colmore Row. One of the most prestigious thoroughfares in the city btw. Sickening.

@JAU_4 @BloozEXTRA Or just don’t dig it up in the first place? They should use stronger pipes etc so no need to ever dig paths up

@BloozEXTRA Covered this before - This is my day job. Utilities HAVE to reinstate like for like. UNLESS temporary. This will be 1 of 2 things 1) The utilities don't have a paving gang, OR permission to, reinstate the town centre. 2) Future redesign, no point. Tarmac is quick and cheap.

The science of Ancient DNA analysis has pretty much killed off racism IMO. Zero doubt, humans have been interbreeding for centuries, and living near the equator causes dark skin, while living farther away gives lighter skin. See this book: David Reich - Who We Are and How We Got Here: Ancient DNA and the New Science of the Human Past. Also clear proof Humans interbred with Neanderthals.
