#sapsHQ [DUTCH DRUG MULE ARRESTED AT OR TAMBO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, KHAT WORTH R240 000 SEIZED] #DrugsOffTheStreets The South African Police Service (SAPS) has arrested another drug mule at the OR Tambo International Airport following an intelligence-driven operation conducted this week. The suspect, a Dutch national from the Netherlands, was reportedly en route to Frankfurt, Germany, when he was intercepted by police at the airport. During the operation, police seized more than 40 kilograms of Khat concealed inside the suspect’s luggage. The drugs have an estimated street value of R240 000. The suspect is expected to appear before the Kempton Park Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 25 May 2026, on charges related to drug trafficking. The SAPS continues to intensify efforts to combat transnational organised crime and drug trafficking through intelligence-led operations at all ports of entry across the country. Police are investigating a house robbery at the Pretoria home of former International Relations Minister and Nelson Mandela University Chancellor Naledi Pandor. The incident took place at Pandor’s home in Villeria last night. Three armed suspects forced entry into the property at approximately 9pm. The suspects reportedly confronted Dr Pandor in her bedroom, while another suspect held her husband in the bathroom as the house was searched and ransacked. Several items were stolen during the robbery, including televisions, a laptop, mobile phones, and the family’s Toyota Cross vehicle. The suspects fled the scene in the stolen vehicle, which was later recovered in Mamelodi East. No injuries were reported. Police investigations into the robbery are continuing.
