What I wrote was that with the recent collapse in the natality rate is part of the explanation for lower native born employment. Yes I agree that immigration has to be fixed, it was way out of whack and it cannot continue as it was. People are giving jobs under the table and that's wrong. But yes, access to credit is important for any economy to develop. Many people around the world have no credit at all. Read Hernando de Soto about the need of the poorest around the world to be able to mortgage their properties and formalize cadastre. It's how you get debt that you can manage. Many people are financially ignorant, that's the reason the debt is incurred for non-productive investments. Or to maintain a lifestyle. And no I did not at any point write that the savings rate was good. People need to save part of their income as well, but a large mortgage can help you buy a house or a car. In poor countries that's impossible. There is no credit access.
