Between 2021 and 2023, the Maple Leafs drafted 5 NHL players with 11 draft picks. Matthew Knies (57th) Fraser Minten (38th) Dennis Hildeby (122nd) Nikita Grebenkin (135th) Easton Cowan (28th) For context, Montreal, Ottawa and Boston COMBINED drafted 6 NHL players with 69 picks.

@_danny_dinsmore @Sabrestalkv2 You have to replace his points. He's one of the primary reasons we won the division. He's a proven commodity. You could ignore that if you want. Like I said come the money has to be right but I'm not just going to dismiss the idea of keeping him.

This fits with everything thats been coming out. They are prioritizing youth and defense over Tuch now that they have Helenius/Doan/Benson/Ostlund/Quinn/Kulich to make up for Tuch leaving. Again, that’s 6(!) guys 24 or younger that you can bank on to make up for Tuch’s production. It’s the smart cap and future move even though I’ll always love and remember Tuch. He’s as much of the reason for the turn around in Buffalo as anyone. Just take a team friendly deal man!

I’ve been deathly critical of UPL for a long time but as much as most people aren’t with me I liked his game tonight and a game like this can change a player. I think I’m putting a stake in UPL next year. I’m usually wrong but saying it. Can’t believe I’m backing him

@jeff_gluck This strategy makes no sense. You need highest finishing position in both. If anything, guys starting further back in the first 75 have an advantage. This is why i think Blaney could be dangerous since we know he can pass well.

We could also see drivers in like 23-25th TRY to drop back to 26th. It's a free pass to clean air for Segment 2.
