Doing a PhD is at heart one long discussion with your mentor. The discussion takes unexpected turns but through it all is 2 people discussing a topic endlessly to make sense of it. My PhD student Bo Xia and I had such a discussion and I'm proud that he's now starting his own lab!

I was genuinely surprised by the creativity of the experiments Dr. Samy Bengio presented at #EEML — fascinating work from his team and @MFarajtabar aimed at understanding LLMs. I'd highly recommend checking how they use the concept of #globality to explain some limits of LLMs.
