Kenyatta FORTIS4EVER Powell@kenyatta_pow

In response to MP Cuthbert's post lamenting MP Burchell's rudeness, a supporter of MP Cuthbert's party calls MP Burchell a concubine, without any pushback from MP Cuthbert. No notes.

@kaminajsmith @TruthLawOrder Minister Does parliament conduct training courses for newcomers and even refresher courses for the others? Because, it is obvious that this kind of intervention is urgent and critical.

I wondered if I read these reports correctly...because I could not believe that in 2026, this is the type of comment being made by a female member of Parliament! What a retrogressive statement and state of mind! You know, when measured against other countries across the world, Jamaica is one of the better performing countries in terms of women in leadership. But we are not without challenges, and gains can be lost if we are not careful. It is one thing when the efforts at disempowerment come from predictable male spaces - an entirely different thing when they come from women who should be fighting the same battles. @JulietHolness has been an exemplary role model and an inspiration to countless girls who aspire to be strong leaders - long may she continue to do so despite the best efforts of some - including those who have yet to achieve a fraction of what the Speaker has professionally, politically and otherwise! Just incredible. Clearly an apology is unlikely from this quarter, but I hope that even one person in the PNP Women's movement will at least sit down with Ms Burchell and give her some counsel.

South St. James Member of Parliament Nekeisha Burchell says House Speaker Juliet Holness has been exhibiting control tendencies similar to women who are able to control their husbands. READ MORE HERE: revonews.ai/news/burchell-…

@kaminajsmith @Godblessedchild You remember the children’s show ‘The Muppets?’ Miss Piggy was a character. No matter the fancy clothes and makeup she always had a hoggish behavior. Moral: you can’t dress up a pig and expect it to behave otherwise!

@tweetiegabby This comment hits the nail on the head! This trend of targeting individuals personally took a nasty turn when Peter Phillips became president of the PNP and it has gone below the gutter since Mark. Sad thing they have eroded their middle and upper class supporters.

I don’t think Nekeisha is at the point of her career where she is concerned with how she is viewed. Her primary goal now is to make a name for herself and unfortunately it doesn’t matter much how that is done in the Caribbean. In a few years she can rebrand if she chooses. The misogynistic remarks, the lack of respect for authority, the posture she takes on many issues won’t matter to the PNP base she serves. Measure your critique against that fact.

With respect, the outcome needs to be stated accurately. Paulwell and Bunting lost their counter-appeal, the Court of Appeal rejected their argument that the constitutional amendment should be struck down on the grounds that it was done for an improper purpose, that it breached the separation of powers principle, and that it circumvented the constitutionally mandated consultation process.

#FYI: Note is taken of the "Paulwell won" declaration but it might have eluded your research that Paulwell & Bunting lost that case as the Court of Appeal overturned the Supreme Court judgement & ruled that the amendment to the Constitution is lawful. courtofappeal.gov.jm/sites/default/…

🚨Phillip Paulwell said something last week that stopped a lot of people mid-scroll. "Parliament is the highest court in the country." A senior politician. A six-term MP. Saying Parliament outranks the courts. Either he's dead wrong, or he knows something most of us slept through in civics class. Let's find out.

@sweetjarose @William37527183 Sadly the comments are not childish but slanderous and distasteful ment to diminish the standing of the Speaker in the minds of others. NNN needs to show this so that others who know better get the opportunity to inform those who don’t that this is not it.

These represent the most decisive PNP contingent sent to Gordon in my lifetime. Disliking someone because of their accomplishments is a problem requiring a cure. Mark J. Golding, please control your overly zealous pit bull. Why PNP have problems with rules. I just don't get it.

@William37527183 Leave her. She must be allowed to continue to pull the PNP down. In this day and age with cameras recording history we will be able to replay this during the 2030 GE! So let them continue!

@Milia_6456 @Arma_Lite_14 A lot of parents on here disagree with you but I say it’s a balance. At 15 you should have a conversation with the child and go through stuff together. If you search with their knowledge then speak to the other parent not the internet. He will stop coming over

This is a bit like insulin, but if you go through his things like this, he'll feel like his mom is invading his privacy by going through his bag, especially since you only see each other once a week. Don't go through his bag anymore. Even though it's well-intentioned, teenagers hate this

So… I have a 15-year-old son who, by his own choice, lives with his dad and only comes to stay with me on weekends. He came over on Friday, and when I was unpacking his backpack I found a bunch of these things inside. Does anyone know what this is? He completely avoids the subject and is super closed off with me. Please help 😭

@suezeecue @djmillerJA Susan you keyboard warriors are like two edged swords. In one breath you want order and in the other breath you upholding slackness. The rule is to use standard English. If you are deviating you ask permission! What’s so hard in that?

Every week the PNP come to parliament to waste the nation’s time. They are the most unserious set of politicians we have ever had in Jamaica’s history. Certainly not the PNP of the 80s and 90s
