Been to bunch of urban beaches in Greece, Canada, Spain, Croatia, Italy and in Rio. Only Valencia beach comes close, but it does not have the same mountain view.

Land in Greece and first thing you see is that every house has metal bars sticking out the top. This is a temple from 500bc I visited today. First thing on the sign: "this temple was never finished". 2500 years and it's still not finished. The Greekness runs deep.

I love Greece and there's such great stuff to see, but it has to be one of the most car-brained places in the EU. The Heptapyrgion is on the top of the hill in Thessaloniki, in the old walled city, up some very narrow ancient streets and yet there's a huge car park 🤦
