This is a chart to show their plans for hiring 60 employees in order to get special NV/LV tax abatement. The goal is to attract people to a place most people don’t want to live in order to drive local tax money. Zappos tried to do this back in the day. One of the founders is ex UNLV, so it is all political grifting to save on taxes, while at the same time pretending to be a large successful company so they can dump on retail when they go public. Massive scam.

Tensorwave has 5 CE's paying themselves $250k/year each. Each CE has their own EA for another $62k/year. That's $312k/yr each CE is costing the company for a total of $1.56m/yr. @arnavmehta007 If you’re already packaging your own stuff as a container for ci/cd, you can’t just run it as a container. Heck, even github actions are ephemeral VMs. Running VMs is just so much more flexible.

This is exactly why we built our cloud around virtual machines. We automated it all. It isn’t easy.

@HotAisle I see yeah that makes sense and docker in docker yeppos (internal virtualization) doesn't work inside containers. Though it seems it depends on nature of the task. I can see most of the things getting done eitherways.

Watch the video. Let’s say you want to run a specific version of ROCm, a container pulls that from the host so all containers have the same version. Docker in docker doesn’t work. Docker compose inside docker doesn’t work. Noisy neighbors can be more of an issue. The isolation isn’t well defined, like it is with a VM.

Irrespective of our revenue, at times - building boostrapped is incredibly hard - can’t spend randomly on fancy stuff without thinking (office, latest MacBooks, fancy 5-10L parties) - most startup programs ask us to F off in later stages - limited access to “gated” events - cannot afford legal costs if building global - inference is expensive and have to get the math right from get go - cannot spend a shit ton of money on meta because we don’t burn - a large number of people don’t understand anything about startups beyond raising money and think that you’re shite unless you show a very handsome exit - a lot of smart people will always ridicule you for not thinking big enough one of those days when I’m super stressed because it seems very unfair but then it is supposed to be like that and this is a choice, not compulsion two three major blockers, back to fixing stuff, will get past this - brb

Went on a short trip to Goa. We stayed in a villa and a resort, did a lot of water activities, and ate amazing food and drank great drinks. All of that cost just ₹30k (about $300) per person, including flights. It's crazy how cheap you can travel in India.

My first reaction when I found out I had been laid off from @base was relief. I was on a call with a founder when I received the news, and almost immediately I felt something open inside me. A new adventure, one that had already been growing quietly within me, was finally going to begin. But soon after, other voices started appearing. Fear. Uncertainty. Doubt. Thoughts telling me I should be angry, sad, disappointed, worried, anxious. That I should feel betrayed. That I should panic. And yet, as those emotions appeared, I could also see them more clearly than before. The negative emotions were there, but they felt weak. This experience reminded me of Gurdjieff’s idea that man cannot really “do.” We like to believe that our individual will can control these giant machines of inertia moving through the world, companies, markets, ecosystems, economies, technologies. But the truth is, most of the time, we are inside forces much larger than us. None of us could have really changed what happened. Not me. Not my teammates. Maybe not even the leaders making the decisions. These systems move through mechanical chains of cause and effect. Markets, funding cycles, pressure, growth, contraction. Giant machines interacting with other giant machines. But there is one thing we can do. We can wake up inside the experience. We can observe what it activates in us. We can accept what is happening without letting it define us. And from that place, we can listen more deeply to our true will. That is what this moment has given me. I feel deeply grateful for my time at @base. Thank you to @jessepollak, @XenBH, @therymac, and many others who enabled me to do some of the best work I’ve ever done, and with whom I had the chance to build something truly meaningful. To the LATAM Pod, @oyealmond, @carlosjmelgar, @gui_bettanin, and @AfonsoBelice, you guys are amazing. Update: It ran for around ~2hours constantly and I'd like to say has created the new feature we needed in our platform and It's currently being deployed right now Such a feature usually would've taken ~1-2 weeks which now would be upto prod in ~3 days
