This year @durham_uni launched its first 'Student Art Prize' competition for registered students.
The theme is 'Diversity' and first place receives a £1500 cash award.
Applications are open until February 2020.

#PeoplesOpera by @NHeartlands and @Opera_North began rehearsals this year.
This new opera has been created for #countydurham and features a chorus of community representatives.
The final performance will be held at @LocomotionSHD next year.

The light festival produced by @artichoketrust and commissioned by @DurhamCouncil featured 37 installations.

The installation was inspired by international students at @UniofNottingham.

Norman Cornish - internationally acclaimed artist and Durham miner - was born 100 years ago today. Born in Spennymoor on 18 November 1919, he worked at Dean & Chapter Colliery for 33 years from the age of 14. (1/4)

The #untitled10 exhibition at @TheBowesMuseum was a hit when it launched back in October.
