@asdfdragon_p Nope you don't have to, my example has no pre shaving underneath it just lays flatter because your directly sewing the shape down and not cutting excess which can make the fabric shrink and puff a little. You can preshave if you wanted though, would just need accurate placement

Follow up video about my personal approach to a variation of appliqué and how I'll use this on the bodysuit I'm working on. Oh and I may be pronouncing appliqué well... wrong, it's just how I've always said it. I think it can or more likely is, pronounced "ah-plee-kay"

@selkiesuits this technique needs pre-shaving under the pattern? (base layer) looks very flat
