I’ve been working with an IVF startup, @herasight, that has already screened hundreds of embryos. Today we come out of stealth with a paper showing that our predictors for 17 diseases — validated within-family — beat the competition, with improved performance in non-Europeans🧵

@schweizer_nina @Repro_Fertility Yes, we can express it this way. This is probably because the previous number of FETs could actually be due to overlooked or undefined factors such as obesity, endometrial preparation, embryo quality, the presence of adenomyosis, and so on. #RAFjc #RAF
English

@Repro_Fertility Does this imply that prior FET cycles negatively influence the outcome of the consecutive embryo transfers? #RaFJC
English

🔍 The authors wondered if something was hidden and re-evaluated all the data.
The logistic regression analyses reveal key factors linked to #PregnancyLoss after euploid embryo transfer:
👉Endometrial preparation
👉Uneven blastomeres
👉Embryo quality
👉Number of prior FET cycles

@SCobanMune @schweizer_nina @Repro_Fertility Among the embryos that exhibited uneven blastomere cleavage patterns, 45.3% developed into top-quality embryos, while 53.7% developed into good-quality embryos. In contrast, all embryos classified as PQ showed even cleavage patterns during their development. #RAFjc #RAF
English

@schweizer_nina @Repro_Fertility @berilyuksel it is very good question? do we have data on this? #rafjc
English

🕵️Are there other embryo parameters that we are missing?
Morphokinetic parameters were analysed in 523 euploid embryos. Besides a higher presence of uneven blastomeres in the total #PregnancyLoss, no significant differences were observed according to pregnancy outcomes. #RaFJC

@SCobanMune @schweizer_nina @Repro_Fertility I agree with you. It is a very good and important question #RAFjc #RAF
English

@schweizer_nina @Repro_Fertility However, it is worth noting that only 523 embryos have TLI data available..
#RAFjc #RAF
English

@Repro_Fertility Curious to know if the embryos with uneven blastomeres are the ones that develop into poor quality blastocysts? #RaFJC
English

@schweizer_nina @Repro_Fertility This is an important question. Among the embryos that exhibited uneven blastomere cleavage, 45.3% developed into TQ embryos, while 53.7% developed into GQ embryos. In contrast, all embryos classified as PQ showed even cleavage patterns during their development. #RAFjc #RAF
English

@Repro_Fertility Uneven cleavage in blastomeres is commonly considered a primary cause of aneuploidy. However, this data suggests that it may also contribute to pregnancy loss following the transfer of euploid embryos. #RAFjc #RAF
English

@Repro_Fertility Yes, absolutely.. It is not all about euploidy.. #RAFjc
English

What about the embryo quality? All embryos in this study were euploid, meaning they had the correct number of chromosomes—but other embryological factors are relevant, too! #RaFJC

@Repro_Fertility On the other hand, among modified natural cycles, live birth rate was 64.5% vs 46.8% among HRT cycles.

English

📊 Results show endometrial preparation might make a difference:
Live births were higher in natural cycles (MN) at 74.5% compared to 25.6% in HRT.
#PregnancyLoss was 47% in MN and 53% in HRT.
Could natural cycles be the key? #IVF #RaFJC

English

@Repro_Fertility The data shows that the way of endometrial preparation is extremely important. However, we may need to make a correction. Among live births, 74.6%were prepared with modified natural cycle, whereas 25.6% were prepared with HRT.

English

@SCobanMune @drgonulozer @Repro_Fertility We usually try to change the endometrial preparation method and if possible we try to select the embryo that has the best quality and normal even cleavage patterns.
English

@drgonulozer @Repro_Fertility @berilyuksel how do you manage the patient when they face this? What is ur experience? #rafjc
English

🌟 #ReproMed has advanced with tools like PGD 🧬, yet 12-15% of pregnancies still end in miscarriage. 💔 More research is needed to understand and reduce these losses. #FertilityScience #IVF #PregnancyLoss #RaFJC

🤔 What causes #PregnancyLoss after euploid embryo transfers?
🧬 This study (shorturl.at/TFeij) analyses 2041 euploid frozen embryo transfers to explore whether clinical and/or embryological factors play a role. #Fertility #IVF #PregnancyLoss #RaFJC
