I dunno, man. If you don’t want a state broadcaster in a monarchy to employ the protocols worked out over decades to deal with the death of a senior member of that monarchy, don’t live in a monarchy. It’s not the BBC’s fault, it’s just another reminder we live in a stupid system.

@rabid_rabitt @IanDunt Yes I get that but the name England is from the Anglo Saxons. The people may be much more homogenous as you say but the the rulers are Saxon, Norse, Norman French. So v few of us are really English at all
