No way miners care about long term fees 2 yrs later when current ASICs that they are using will be obsolete in 6 months.

I think miners are supporting BU to block SegWit, thereby keeping status quo, because they are enjoying inflated txn fees due to full blks.

I bet the miners love these fees though. Their short-term incentives are to continue to not adopt SegWit. Incentive scheme failure.
