@DanielPriestley 100%, and exit planning in the UK is miles behind the U.S. which is what we try to address at celestus.com
Owners are not decentralising themselves in businesses, management teams don’t get nurtured and built up, too high a concentration of customers, and so on 🤔
English

Why do most businesses never sell?
70% of businesses that are put up for sale never sell despite the fact they've created documents, hired a broker, and have accounts and lawyers all ready to go.
We hear the success stories and think selling your business is easy - you put it on the market, and you just sell it, like a house. That rarely happens. Because most people don't prepare their business for sale.
The truth is most entrepreneurs are not building something saleable.
English

@DanielPriestley Wasn’t much of a debate. Gary is good at pointing out the issues, but doesn’t really offer the solutions apart from “tax the rich”. And judging by comments on YouTube, financial literacy is non-existent for most people in the UK, which is not a good sign…
English

Millionaires are leaving the UK in record numbers. More millionaires left the UK than left India, Russia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Nigeria, Brazil and South Africa COMBINED.
The UK's number one export is wealthy people. Why??? Because taxes are insanely high and wealthy people can live and work anywhere.
The UK has become a 3-star hotel charging 5-star prices... and just down the road you'll find 4-star resorts offering 70% off.
Instinctively many British people hate wealthy people and are happy to see these people leave. Keep in mind, they are leaving because of high taxes so once they depart, those high taxes stop.
If 9 people went out to dinner with a rich friend who offered to pay 60% of the bill and we then they asked her to leave, the impact is that the bill doubles for the 9 people who stay.
The UK Government is spending £1.3TRILLION a year. That number is going to be paid by British tax payers... for every rich person who leaves we need to double the taxes paid by 55 average tax payers.
I debated this with @garyseconomics on diary of a CEO. It get's pretty heated. You can watch it here:

@ndzfs @levelsio @Kling_ai @synclabs Yes, absolutely. Wherever it would be a net positive in that regard is a big question though. How many people would think that having an ai coach is enough to make progress (mental health -wise). (not debating that there is a use case here - it’s already happening)
English

@boris_rykov @levelsio @Kling_ai @synclabs true, maybe not for therapy (also tricky on the legal front) but "coaching". recently read an article about people using AI "coaches" to just bounce feelings, reflect because it is so cheap compare to booking a meeting with a real therapist.

English

@levelsio @ndzfs @Kling_ai @synclabs The therapist part will be a lot harder to replicate, regardless of how realistic it is. The whole idea of effective therapy presupposes building a trusting relationship, part of which is having a human connection. Knowing you’re talking to the AI will prevent that from happening
English

@ndzfs @Kling_ai @synclabs I think you're misunderstanding the purpose
It's not about building a following
It's producing automated ads, YouTube, TikTok videos, teaching videos, marketing, explainers, etc.
Also when it's fast enough it'll be live generated so think Facetime AI friends or therapists
English

@thesamparr A mind blowing tool. Just inserted some lyrics, and generated three versions, one better than the other. Scary stuff
English

Absolutely insane that this is AI.

@charly__says @damiriumm Травоядная эпоха это: две чеченские войны, Беслан, Норд-Ост и 90е?

@levelsio @GergelyOrosz Follower count on YouTube means nothing though. You can have a million subscribers, and 10k views per video (which is nothing on YouTube)
English

@GergelyOrosz I think fair as long as they increase the payouts by getting more advertisers etc
400K followers and actively posting would get $10,000-$20,000/mo on YouTube I think

@damiriumm Близко к книге, или переиначили все как обычно, чтобы стало более «обще-доступно»? @damiriumm

@DavidSacks @Jason *P.S. one more point. Navalny was arguably the last possible political alternative to Putin. By killing him, it was made clear to everyone: you will only talk to Putin, there are no alternatives.

@DavidSacks @Jason something perhaps to bring up to discuss during the next pod

@MailerLite Hi guys, I can’t resend password, get an sms code to log in, or send a support ticket. What’s going on? Second week in a row that there are issues with the service.
English

@theallinpod Was waiting the whole week for this episode, after also unplugging from social media for a few days. A great and nuanced conversation, thank you @theallinpod and the guys (although we missed @friedberg on this one). 🤝 it was much needed
