College football recruiting questions, comments, and predictions. 1) How does Alabama fail to secure an OV for an OT? On 247 Sports, Maxwell Hiller is still listed, but he’s committed to UF. Bama, with no OT visits? That’s the most important prep position to recruit. 2) Texas A&M is having a historic recruiting run. I will be shocked if the Aggies do not finish #1. It’s a combination of hiring elite assistants as recruiters, as well as Mike Elko, with elite NIL. 3) 2026 & 2027 Notre Dame DL classes will be the best back-to-back in the history of the school. 4) Despite Indiana’s national title and massive NIL, recruiting is just okay. I am surprised by that. 5) Props to UCLA. The Bruins are doing work on the recruiting trail. That’s a really good staff in Westwood. 6) PSU is not living up to expectations along the recruiting trail. Several good players, yet not enough elite recruits. 7) Recruiting for FSU and SCAR suffers because of the head coaches being on the hot seat. 8) Watch out for Clemson’s May 29th recruiting weekend. No college football program does a better job of closing during and after an OV weekend than Dabo’s bunch. 9) I am not certain, but I think LSU’s recruiting class might underwhelm as it relates to expectations. 10) My prediction for the 2027 top five classes is A&M at No. 1, then some combination of Oregon, Notre Dame, Georgia, and Oklahoma to round out the list.
